Boston -- A 12-year-old dog will see its owner for the first time in two years after its vision was restored at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, TV station WCVB reported.

Bobo, who lost his vision to cataracts, underwent surgery on Tuesday.

"Bobo has had a host of medical issues over the past several years, including diabetes, that postponed his cataract surgery," Dr. Martin Coster said. "Cataracts are quite common in older canines and there is a high success rate for sight recovery in certain candidates."

The dog was scheduled to go home Wednesday, and Coster said, "Bobo should now be able to enjoy the sights as he goes for his walks and see the people that have been around him for the past few years.”

That's a heartwarming story. I wish they did it when the dog was younger, but better late than never.

That gives a whole new meaning to the term "seeing eye dog"! It's great they were able to restore sight to this dog.
