View Full Version : In Your Opinion, What Were Some of the Worst Movie Miscastings? Brian Damage 01-20-2010, 12:01 AM Sophia Coppolla as Michael Corleone's daughter in The Godfather III JamesG 01-20-2010, 02:06 AM Vince Vaughn as "Norman Bates" in Psycho (1998). Zoneboy 01-20-2010, 02:08 AM Vince Vaughn as "Norman Bates" in Psycho (1998). Remaking that classic was worse than casting Vince Vaughn in it. JamesG 01-20-2010, 02:26 AM Remaking that classic was worse than casting Vince Vaughn in it. I fully agree with that. What I think they should have done, if they felt they had to do it again, was to make the film more loyal to the novel. Things like having Norman Bates look more like Vincent D'Onofrio; in the novel Bates was in his mid-40s, bald, and overweight. Also having Norman decapitate Marion Crane in the shower like how the novel described. That would have been more interesting, and better in my opinion, instead of doing what they did which was an updated shot-for-shot carbon copy. MickeyMac 01-20-2010, 12:18 PM Michael Keaton in Batman MrCleveland 01-21-2010, 06:08 PM This might sound dumb but... Phil Hartman should've played Henry Mitchell in the film version of "Dennis the Menace" (Since he did the voice of Henry in the Animated Series and could pull it off in the movie version). Ashton Kutchner and Sean William Scott should've played Lloyd and Harry (respeactful-Lee) in the movie "When Harry Met Lloyd". spunkygirl 01-21-2010, 08:29 PM Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane in "Superman Returns" Retro4Life 01-21-2010, 10:58 PM Michael Keaton in Batman Total agreement. Let's add pretty much the entire cast of "Watchmen" except Jackie Earle Hayley. Also: Eric Bana as Bruce Banner in "Hulk". catlover79 01-22-2010, 12:33 AM Remaking that classic was worse than casting Vince Vaughn in it. Exactly!! catlover79 01-22-2010, 12:33 AM Katie Holmes in Batman Begins Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes as a couple in Maid in Manhattan Hugh Grant in Sense & Sensibility comedyfreak 01-22-2010, 05:16 AM William Hurt as John Robinson in the Lost In Space Movie. Will Farrell as Darrin Stephens in the Bewitched Movie. Schmoopie 01-22-2010, 06:08 AM Gary Cooper in "Love in the Afternoon". This is a wonderful movie, but he was much too old to be paired with Audrey Hepburn. In fact, the movie producers must have thought so too. Every time they kiss, the screen fades to black. Really! I don't think Gary Cooper was much younger than Maurice Chevalier, who played her father. It did work, though. Of course, Audrey is so adorable in this film that she could have been paired with anyone and I would love it! Here's a picture from one of my favorite scenes: Dr. Thong 01-22-2010, 11:30 AM Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane in "Superman Returns" Agreed. She was too young and too much a lightweight to play the feisty Lois. You need someone with some guts and some moxie, like Margot Kidder or Erica Durance. As for miscasting -- George Clooney in just about anything. The man cannot act! Brian Damage 01-22-2010, 11:41 AM Cedric the Entertainer as Ralph Kramden in The Honeymooners Movie JamesG 01-22-2010, 12:33 PM Pretty much the entire cast of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. browneyes106 01-22-2010, 09:35 PM John Travolta and Joan Allen as a married couple in Face/Off catlover79 01-22-2010, 09:58 PM How about Sir Laurence Olivier as Neil Diamond's father in The Jazz Singer??   TMC 01-24-2010, 04:35 AM William Hurt as John Robinson in the Lost In Space Movie. Will Farrell as Darrin Stephens in the Bewitched Movie. I would've preferred Jim Carrey for the Darrin role. He actually looks a lot like Dick York. How about Jessica Alba as Susan Storm/The Invisible Woman in the Fantastic Four movies? Or Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist in a James Bond movie!? |
