On the pilot episode of Roseanne, there was a different actor who played DJ. Sal Barone played DJ, and was then replaced by Michael Fishman for the rest of the series.

Also on Boy Meets World Topanga's father Jedidah was played by three different actors by Peter Tork in one episode, Michael McKean in one episode, and Mark Harelik in a few episodes and her mother Rhiannon was played by both Annette O'Toole and Marcia Cross.

I know this really isn't a sitcom but on Dr. Quinn, Jessica Bowman replaced Erika Flores as Colleen Cooper in the middle of Season 3. It was really sudden and unexpected and wasn't accepted by a lot of fans of the show. To many of us, still to this day consider Erika to be the only Colleen. No offense to Jessica, but Erika was the first Colleen and the better Colleen. It just wasn't the same after Erika left. Erika had her reasons for leaving but it was still hard accepting Jessica in the role. I learned to live with it, but I didn't like it. :(

on the "CALVACADE OF STARS" on Dumont, the first time they showed the Nortens in "THE HONEYMOONERS" Trixie was played by Elaine Stritch. But then Jackie Gleason decided he didn't like her in the role, so he got Joyce Randolph to replace her.
Also Alice was played by Pert Kelton in those early sketches on Dumont, then she was blacklisted so Audrey Meadows took over. Then when Jackie revised "THE HONEYMOONERS" in 1964, Sue Ann Langdon played Alice and someone else (I forget her name) played Trixie.
And for the musical sketches in the 60s (which were remakes of the 50s sketches) Shelia McRae and Jane Kean played Alice and Trixie.
