I've searched the site on the few things I remember about this story, to no avail. I'm hoping my sketchy details will ring a bell with someone here. And, hopefully I'm not crossing up my stories.

Young woman in maybe North or South Carolina was murdered on this lonely stretch of road. She was supposedly dating a married man or something? No one could figure out why she would have pulled over her car?
