On Glee a few of the characters come from non-traditional homes

I guess the only thing that classifies as a traditional family home is one with a father, mother and children (who are born biologically) and maybe a grandparent.

Amazingly, Married with Children and Roseanne, though dysfunctional families, would be considered traditional, here.

The Facts of Life.

I think the only traditional family on Friends was Jack and Judy Geller. They were married and had Ross and Monica and they stayed married. Rachel's parents divorced when she was an adult. Chandler's parents divorced when he was a kid and Phoebe had the most dysfunctional family life. She was raised by her adoptive mother and stepfather, he went to jail, she met her mother and birth father once, she didn't get along with her twin sister and she met her half brother when she was an adult.

Even though Ross had the most normal family life, it was still dysfunctional because of how his parents favored him over Monica. That made him very insecure as an adult, even more so when his wife left him for another woman. It kept him from the love of his life Rachel, for 10 years before finally getting her only to lose her again after a year. Despite that, he still had a baby with her without actually being in a relationship with her while having his son Ben, that he had with Carol only part time. Because of that he himself had a non traditional family. He had kids with two different women, two women that he loved but couldn't hold onto because of his own insecurities.
In the end though, he was able to overcome them and get Rachel back and raise his daughter the right way and allowed Ben and Emma to be real brother and sister.

Traditional families on TV are a rarity nowadays. I wasn't raised in a traditional family and I came out okay. :)
