View Full Version : Anyone ever try a deep fried candy bar?
Big C 01-15-2010, 03:49 AM It sounds like a weird idea, but it's true- they actually exist.
I have heard of these- deep-fried candy bars (Reese's, Milky Way, Snickers) are sold at state fairs.
Anyone ever try these?

Jonathan 01-15-2010, 03:55 PM Never tried one, don't intend to. I don't think I could stomach one.
JamesG 01-15-2010, 04:09 PM Never had that but I did have deep fried twinkies and Oreos. Very good.
MickeyMac 01-15-2010, 05:00 PM Maybe I would be willing to try one, depends.

I was thinking the same thing. I can't imagine the stomach ache that would follow eating one.

Janice 01-15-2010, 06:40 PM I don't like regular deep fried food, so I'd pass on this too.
*ShortCake* 01-15-2010, 08:58 PM I really like the deep fried snickers.. but deep fried oreos are my favorite!

Courtnee 01-15-2010, 09:54 PM If I could share it with like, 58945783497534 people. Those things probably have like, 4 days worth of calories, haha.
Marvo301 01-15-2010, 10:06 PM We don't deep fry candy bars here in Canada. We prefer to smother things in cheese and gravy! (poutine anyone?)

phoebe7165 01-16-2010, 04:16 PM No, I would love to though!! I wanted to at the last fair I went to but they had this rather ludicrous ticket policy. You couldn't just buy the product. You had to go to a ticket booth to buy tickets, and certain items were so many tickets. Didn't feel like dealing with having to stand in 2 long lines!!. If you were just able to buy at the concessions, oh, most definitely.

No problem there. We're all gonna die anyway!!
spunkygirl 01-16-2010, 04:44 PM Eeewww that doesn't even sound good :barf:
James 01-16-2010, 05:16 PM I have!
They were available at the Greene County (Ohio) Fair in the summer of 2008, and I tried one. I think it was a deep fried Twinkie, which is supposedly big in Cincinnati. It was OK; it didn't make me sick, but it didn't get me dying to have another one. (Unfortunately, that technically counts as a deep fried snack, not a candy bar. Still, they dipped it in batter before deep frying it.)
coffield3 01-16-2010, 09:53 PM I tryed a deep fried Mars Bar..many years ago...it was rather nice, but I wont be going back for more!!
