Sheen's Sitcom Hits Season High After Christmas Day Arrest

Charlie Sheen's legal woes have bolstered ratings for his TV sitcom Two And A Half Men - the U.S. show has snared its biggest audience in over a year following the actor's Christmas day arrest.

Sheen was back to work at the comedy show last Monday, and shot his first episode on Friday - just days after he was arrested and jailed following a heated fight with his wife Brooke Mueller.

He was taken into custody by cops in Aspen, Colorado after reportedly threatening Mueller with a knife during the argument.

But the bust-up has proved to be a boom for Sheen's show. The actor and his castmates crushed competition, snaring a season high with 17.3 million viewers on Monday night.

Sheen faces charges of second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief. He is due in court later this month to ask officials to lift the protection order.

There's nothing like a good controversy to boost ratings! And I guess this proves the truth of the old adage "there's no such thing as bad publicity".
