NBC could be losing Conan, but they almost gained Barbara Walters.
The veteran TV journalist and View cohost revealed on her daytime show today that NBC had approached her last year to rejoin their news division.
“At my age, it was a very flattering offer,” said Walters, 80, who met with NBC Universal’s CEO Jeff Zucker among others, says. "I chose not to, but it was a very difficult decision.”
Walters added she would have stayed on The View, which is not part of ABC’s news division, even if she had accepted the NBC news offer. She said she was revealing the offer because she “wanted to publicly thank them.”
