During the first season of the show, the press seemed to be devoting all its
attention to witches Samantha and Endora. Dick York remarked, in the May 29, 1965 issue of TV Guide: " ... I guess it's a lot more exciting to identify with someone superhuman than with someone normal .... Maybe it's
me. I don't think so, but the only way to tell if it's me or not is to kill me off in
one show, give the witch another husband and see if I'm missed."

And as it turned out he was very much missed when his bad back forced him to leave the show and he was replaced by Dick Sargeant. It was definitely not you Dick (York)!

If that's not prophetic, I don't know what is!! Bewitched definitely was not the same without Dick York. The chemistry he shared with Elizabeth Montgomery was off the charts - and she definitely did not have it with Dick Sargent (sorry).
