I hate to seem unappreciative about season's 3 quick release, but I want more Donna (and Jeff and Mary and Alex)!

Is there any word out yet about season 4?

Season 4 was promised just in time for Mother's Day 2010. However, both Seasons 2 and 3 were pushed back from their projected release dates several times.

Yeah, I remember that last year, being disappointed about not getting season 2 around Mother's Day.

If they miss May this year, they can shoot for June 6, D-Day. It could stand for Donna Day! ;)

Bad News: The following excerpt is from an email from Virgil Films, regarding Season 4:

"We have had a great time releasing the Donna Reed Show on DVD but unfortunately our relationship with the estate has ended so we won’t be releasing Seasons Four or Five. I am not sure who will get those rights. I have passed along your e mail to the folks who run the estate. Thanks again for your interest and sorry to be the bearer of bad news."

Hopefully the remaining Seasons will be picked up by another distributor.

I had a feeling it was too good to be true. I was really, really hoping to finally get to see "For Angie, With Love" where Paul Peterson sings "She Can't Find Her Keys", after all these years. I do hope someone else picks it up. I have really enjoyed the first 3 season releases and have other episodes and seasons that I have received from collectors, but that episode from the 4th season has never turned up. The one where Shelley sings "Johnny Angel" is out there from film transfer, though.

I feel cheated! Did they ever have rights to the entire series? Probably not.

^No, not the final two seasons--Sony still owns those.

That being said--Shout! or MPI can pick these up!!!
