I was in the Drama club in Bible College and have also been in some church plays as well. I usually get cast as the comic relief character. I don't mind since I'm usually more calm and relaxed when I'm on stage than I am in real life. So I have no problem making a fool of myself on stage. Besides making people laugh is a great feeling!
Pitooey 01-09-2010, 06:27 PM I was a witch in a Halloween play in school.
The 2nd play was speaking about the world. Someone put itching powder in back of me and I started scratching like crazy before I got on the stage. Of course the culprits were just giggling. I did get a huge laugh from the audience because they saw me as comical.
sunshinefizzy 01-09-2010, 10:12 PM I had roles in 8 plays with my local children's theater. I was a lead in one of them and got rave reviews from the audience. My favs were Best Christmas Pagent Ever( was in this for two different runs. This was my very first play and I had a bit part in the angel choir and then I was the main character Beth), Babes in Toyland (I was Simple Simon, a gypsy, and a bugaboo), and Peter Pan( I played adult Wendy).
Nighthawk76 01-10-2010, 06:52 PM In high school I was in a performance of Bye Bye Birdy. I played one of the adults living in the town, which made it more of a choral part than an acting part, though I had one line as the stage manager on the Ed Sullivan type show that Conrad Birdy appeared on. It was a very fun expereince.
catlover79 01-11-2010, 01:30 AM I was an extra in our high school drama club's production of Little Mary Sunshine. It was kind of a bizarre time because my grandmother was ill (terminally ill, though neither I nor my siblings were privy to that information yet). I wanted with all my heart for Grandma to see me, but she was just too weak. My dad came one night, and my mom came the next night (it played three days). I had fun, the cast was great, but the experience is like one big blur.
MrCleveland 01-11-2010, 02:40 PM I was in two minor roles....
They were both at my Alma Mater (Tri-C West). I was a pirate in "Peter Pan" and a Leather Apron in "1776".
I also wrote a play that was staged at Tri-C West...twice! It's called "The Russian Comedy".
JamesG 01-11-2010, 02:57 PM I was in an original production made by my school called "Mystery of Death Mountain" written and done completely by the students. I was in the fifth grade and my role was one of the campers in a supporting part.
I vaguely remember this but I believe we did it for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday, and the plot was about this killer who goes after campers hiking in the woods on "Death Mountain".
The reason the killer did this was because he was shot in the head by hunters years ago and the bullet in his brain couldn't be removed so he went crazy up in the woods.
Another time it wasn't really a play but our school had a thing for the students to re-enact various historical incidents for everyone twice a year.
One time for a Holocaust re-enactment I was a Nazi in charge of transporting the prisoners and another time I was a 'Roman Guard' for a Caesar story. I was in eighth grade for this.
In high school I wasn't on the stage and I worked on stage crew for my Junior and Senior year.
Janice 01-15-2010, 05:34 PM When I was 15, I was in a high school musical. I was an extra, but in the forefront, same as my three girlfriends. It was one of the most fun experiences that I had as a teen. It was really a splashy production called, Razmatazz. The director was well-known in the community and in high demand. My entire family went to see it. Good times.
YoliUSA 01-15-2010, 06:01 PM I was in several plays when I was in grade school. One of them was titled "Christmas Around The World", written by our choir director. I'm shy but I've always loved acting, would love to have a career in it. :)
