During the first scene Alice is seen sliding a kitchen cupboard door open in order to open/take out a drawer. Is it me or does that seem like poor design? Not very practical. Also, it is suggested that Alice has just entered the scene after having been out shopping yet only comes back with two bags for 9 people??? Perhaps she was just picking up the essentials.

Tiger makes a return in this episode though the poor mutt is covered in stamps!

During the house of cards sequence (spoofed in A Very Brady Sequel), when Marcia found her bracelet getting in the way why didn't she just remove it???

Also during this seen watch Robert Reed when the house of cards gets toppled. He breaks up laughing when he sees some of the fake cards that were stuck together for the benefit of what would have been quite a technical scene to stage. At the end of the scene he can be observed pushing them down with his fingers.

Considering how long Mike and Carol have been together it is strange that the issue of trading cards has not come up before. ;)

In the first place, when this episode was made, Mike and Carol had been together for less than a year. I would have to see the episode again to be sure (which I can easily do being that I own it on DVD), but I believe that, if Alice was, indeed shopping she was doing so wath Carol. Being that Alice did not drive, if she went alone, she would have had to go to a store in walking distance to the house. Furthermore, if this was the case, it would be quite understandable fortwo bags to be all that she could carry by hand!

I expect that the boys would have cried foul if Marcia would have removed her bracelet in the middle of the contest. If you start with the bracelet on then you have to finish that way. As far as Alice only carrying two bags of groceries you have to remember that she would not have had to purchase meat at the grocery store as Sam always delivered meat to the Brady's from his butcher shop. As this episode is from very early in the 2nd season so we can assume that Mike and Carol had only been together for about a year. So it is reasonable to believe that this is the first time that the trading stamp issue has come up.

Reading this thread makes me wonder whether the seasons of the show are a little bit different in your country than in ours. To start with, do you have any episodes on DVD? If so, are they produced by an American or a Canadian company. I know that there are some shows (like "Gimme a Break!")whose DVD's are produced simultainiously in the United States and Canada. The only thing that I can say for sure about this topic is that in my American DVD set, this episode is in the first season jacket!

I was actually going by the airdate, which I misread. You're right , this episode is from later in the first season not early in the second meaning Mike and Carol had been together for less than a year at the time of this episode.(by the way the DVD's I have are the one's released by Paramount)

Good observations! I have seen this episode numerous times and I never noticed Mike pushing on the cards with his fingers!

I know Mike was an architect, but his contracting buddies blew it when they designed the lower kitchen cabinets. Sliding a door to pull out a drawer?

I always wondered how Alice got the groceries home when she didn't drive. Carol could have gone shopping since she was out. Alice had enough to do running Carol's house.

Why didn't the kids know what was in their own kitchen cupboards, and if they were all collecting stamps, everyone would have known about it each time groceries were brought into the house.

And remember the classic blooper during the house of cards scene: first Jan's hair is down, then up, then down, then up, etc.

Perhaps Alice brought the bags home on that 4 wheeled car they had in the garden sometimes. I remember when our washing machine broke down and my mother put the washing basket onto our go-car and pulled it around the block to a neighbours house to get it done.

Carol had the easier job as she took Bobby and Cindy shopping with her.

Regarding Jan's hair; I missed that so will go home and check. Thanks.
