Hi Heather.

My avatar couldn't possibly be you, you don't smoke! And I guess you don't play Left for Dead either so no need for you to worry about that. :)

Sorry I was a bit vague before as I'm still digesting it. The Haunting in Connecticut is a 2009 movie "based" on the real life experience's of the Snedeker family in 1986. Alot more info found here http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/31004/a-haunting-connecticut-what-really-happened and you can watch the Discovery documentary which is what I saw (not the Movie) on that site too.

More-or-less, the Snedekers (named Parker's in the doco) moved into an old funeral home which they claim was haunted. They had a teenage son named Matt I think (Paul in the doco) who had cancer and was sleeping in the basement with his younger brother who claimed to be haunted by a demon(s).

They try telling their parents for ages who didn't believe them. The boy became sicker and the more sicker he got the more the hauntings bacame intense. Eventually he went into hospital and made a miracle recovery but by then the demon had pretty much "taken over" him. He started to withdraw and write about death and claims the demon was telling him to do evil things to his family. He tried to rape his cousin and was taken away to mental hospital. After that happen, the demon sort out it's next target, his mother. It tried to suffocate her in the shower and run down the father when he was out working.

Eventually they got rid of the demon via a sayonce (or however that's spelt). They moved, got their son out of the mental house all recovered and moved on with their lives. The new owners report nothing unusual as well.

Anyway, that's their story, believe it or not which I probably don't. It just seems alot like the Amyttvile Horror story in a way, not sure if the family has benefited financally or not.

I guess it made an interesting 2 hours on a rainy afternoon last Saturday.

Wow that show sounds chilling! Yes it is hard to believe and does sound very similar to the Amityville Horror.
