Following her very controversial F-bomb-dropping New Year's Eve hosting gig, CNN executives have decided Kathy Griffin will NOT be getting a 2011 invite. "She was a total embarrassment to the network that calls themselves 'The Most Trusted Name in News.' Even Anderson (Cooper, her co-host) thinks it's time to say goodbye to Kathy," a CNN insider tells me.

Not only did the potty-mouthed redhead drop the F bomb on live TV, she also made not-so-funny jokes about needing a "bump" of cocaine and asked Cooper if he pleasured himself while looking in the mirror. As sexy as the Silver Fox is ... that's just too much, Kathy.

Even worse than the comedienne's desperate need to shock was the fact that the show was a ratings bomb, as it fell far behind the family-friendly 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve' on ABC.

Still, CNN publicist Shimrit Sheetrit tells me: "No decisions have been made yet regarding next year's show."

CNN, I find it hard to believe that you have not yet made a decision regarding someone who drops the F bombs live on your network!!!

Either way, it's nice to see Dick Clark on top like the classy fella he is.

Now if they only could ban her from television and ALL media we'd be in great shape!!

I've had cases of bad gas that I found a lot funnier and interesting than Kathy Griffin.

According to the folks at TVsquad the news on the ban is false:

"Update: CNN says that reports that Griffin has been banned are false because no decision has been made on next year's show yet."

...I certainly hope Kathy will return to appear on "LARRY KING LIVE" and HLN's "JOY BEHAR SHOW". Just because she's about to be persona non grata on New Year's Eve doesn't mean she can't control herself on those programs....I like her attitude. She's more honest than most talk show guests these days.

Yeah, and if I think an actual ban had taken place, CNN would have said something official. Addressing the issue by saying "no decisions have been made for next year yet" is quite vague.

CNN just haven't officially commented on anything yet. The cancellation is strictly "insider reports".

Yep, Kathy behaves herself on talk shows these days. She's well aware that they can make or break your career if they choose never to have you on. That's why she didn't go into any detail about certain hosts in her book.

You're right on that. CNN hasn't officially said she has been banned.

Kathy Griffin is horrible.
The only way she stays in the public eye is by
saying a bunch of outrageous crap.
Anyone remember her blasphemous "Jesus Statement".

The last good thing Kathy Griffin did was in her title role
of "Mr. Ed".

Methinks CNN wants groups like us to say stuff about her. They knew she was controversial and they still hired her. This is the last I'll speak of her. :thumbsdow

Well if you compare anything Kathy Griffin did or said to what Kanye West did, last year in a drunken stuper, he's the one that should be banned from any media, until he checks into a re-hab facility. Instead, he gets a spot on Jay Leno within 24 hours!!!!!!!!!!!

Kathy will probably talk about this incident in her next Bravo comedy hour special.

"Most trusted name in news..." Is that really true. I thought everybody trusted Fox News. You learn something new everyday.

I can't stand her at all. She's awful!!!!!!!!!!!! It's too bad, because she's a really pretty lady and when she talks it just ruins her whole appearance. I hope she's banned... period!

Of course she will. That's the basis of her standup act now... hey, did you see the last show I did? Well those people were mean to me, so now let me tell you what jerks they were!
It's like the Seinfeld episode she was in (season 9 episode 13) where she gains fame by trash talking Jerry. Jerry asks her to stop, but she uses his demands as fodder for her act.
This is what she does! She goes on some show, stirs up sh*t, and when she's called out for her antics, she uses it for her act.
It has to stop some time. Sooner or later, she will burn her bridges.

Here's hoping it's sooner, not later.

Although I've never seen Kathy Griffin's performance,anywhere,ever, I'm
quite aware of her controversial image. Like Pitooey said, CNN knew she
was a contraversial figure before they hired her to appear alongside
Anderson Cooper. CNN aren't 5th graders, for they should know better.

They actually wrote that for her, because it was practically a real life situation. When she was on Seinfeld the first time, Jerry was rude to her, and she put it in her act. He heard about it, felt bad and invited her back on the show. It seems like the two of them are friends today.
