I'm sure by now Days fans have heard that Bryan Dattilo(Lucas) has been let go. His last airdate is sometime in Feb. This is the kind of BS that pisses me off. The writers' could have written him in the up and coming storyline about Maggie.

If fans haven't heard by now then don't read below

Mickey Horton, Maggie's husband is being killed off.

That might or will push her over the edge and she might start drinking again. Since Maggie is Lucas's sponsor, in return Lucas can be there for Maggie, she's going to need all the support she can get. I trully believe Lucas would be there for her in a heartbeat. This is a bad time to kick Bryan Dattilo off the canvas. This is the kind of storyline his character "should" be involved in.

Where has Mickey been? I seem to have missed that, also where is Max Brady?

Max is in London with Chelsea, but they haven't been on the show for about 6 months. Both Darin Brooks and Rachel Melvin didn't renew their contracts. Darin is supposed to have a TV show on Spike starting soon, and Rachel was on Heros.

Who is playing Mickey Horton these days??

Mickey Horton is being played by Kevin Dobson. He's been with Days since 2008, but he is hardly ever shown. It's been a long time since he's been shown. The writers's could write him off instead of killing him off, at least that way he would have had the option to return.

From what I understand the Mickey Horton character has been around since the beginning, at least the show could have him on more.

Also what became of John Clarke, the original Mickey Horton??

According to imdb John Clarke retired from DOOL as Mickey Horton in Jan 2004.

I think it makes perfect sense to kill Mickey off. For newer DAYS fans, they don't really know Mickey because they've only seen the recasts or if they were watching when Clarke was on, they barely saw him. For older DAYS fans, no one's ever gonna be Mickey except for Clarke, so it's really nonsensical to keep the character on the show, and killing him off provides long-awaited story for Suzanne Rogers, so it works.

Killing off Mickey Horton a character that has been on since 1965 (even though you rarely see him and even when John Clarke was playing him, the last five years or so Clark played the role, we rarely saw Mickey).

No matter how you look at it, its an end of an era for Days.

Oh yeah, it's the end of an era for sure, and I think DAYS will milk that for what its worth. I don't want to go into spoilers that are making the rounds, but Maggie should be getting some substantial screen time dealing with it, and Lisa Trusel will be reprising her role as Melissa Anderson (she was on the show through most of the 80s) for a short while. Melissa's son is currently a character on the show, so I guess it's possible that she might stick around for a while. Who knows?

John Clarke's Mickey got lots of airtime towards the end, like the "death" of Maggie and his relationship with gold-digging Bonnie. I, too, have always liked Lisa Trusel and hope she sticks around.
