What are your predictions for 2010? What are you still hopeful of seeing released? Which new releasees are you most excited about?
Skywalker 01-02-2010, 10:46 PM I can't really say I'm too excited about the new releases that are coming in the next few months. I'm glad Night Court Season 3 is finally coming out and I'll probably pick up Parker Lewis Season 2 someday, but that's about it. I do hope VEI releases a complete series box set of Gimme a Break. Even though I own the first 2 seasons, I'd still buy a box set if it's not too expensive. I would also like to see Paramount release the final Season of Mork and Mindy and the last 2 seasons of Family Ties. Paramount finished releasing a few shows in 2009, such as Cheers, Wings and even Taxi, which hadn't had a season set released in 4 years. I think they'll start releasing more shows which haven't had a release in awhile like Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, Family Ties and Mork and Mindy.
I would love to see Perfect Strangers Season 3 and The Bob Newhart Show Season 5 come to DVD this year, but I won't hold my breath. I don't know why WB hasn't released PS season 3. I thought the Seasons 1 & 2 set sold well, at least it did on amazon.
R.jsheedy 01-02-2010, 10:54 PM I'm Still Hoping To See come out....
8 Simple Rules Season 3,
According To Jim Season 2,
My Wife And Kid's Season 2,
Just Shoot Me Season 4,
The Bill Engvall Show Season 2 And 3,
Rules Of Engagements Season 3,
Til Death Season 3 (IF THEY EVAR DO FINISH THEIR RUN),
Better Off Ted Season 2 (IF IT EVAR DOES COME OUT),
The New Adventures Of Old Christine Season 3,
King Of The Hill Season 7,
The Goode Family Season 1 (STILL HAS A FIGHTING CHANCE TO COME BACK),
Sit Down Shut Up Season 1 (HOPEING COMEDY CENTRAL GIVES IT SEASON 2)
Surviving Surburbia The Complete Series
The War At Home Season 2
Malcom In The Middle Season 2
George Lopez Season 3
The Bernie Mac Show Season 2
TV_Fan 01-02-2010, 11:20 PM It seems likely that we'll finally see Gimme A Break The Complete Series sometime this year from VEI. They do mention it on their website, and if they quoted sometime in 2010 that must mean they have at least some more of the seasons ready to go. It wouldn't make sense for them to canel the project after it's already started and probably more than half way through. I too have the first two seasons but will still buy the set because I MUST have this series on DVD.
From Shout! I'm betting we'll see the 5th season of Mr Belvedere before 2010 is out, probably as an online exclusive. I'm betting we'll also see some surprises from them, possibly some series abandoned by Fox, Sony and Universal. Silver Spoons, please please please??? I wouldn't be surprised to see Malcolm In The Middle get it's second season released.
I would love to see Paramount put out the final season of Mork & Mindy just so I can have it. If anything, it probably wouldn't be until the end of the year. It would be nice to see more seasons of Happy Days & Laverne & Shirley but Mork & Mindy is really the only one I'm concerned about.
I've given up on WB but I'd still love to see season 3 of Perfect Strangers. It's still being carried at Best Buy so maybe that's a good sign. I don't think we'l see anymore Growing Pains and that is a shame.

DSfan 01-03-2010, 01:10 AM I really, really want Wonder Years on DVD.
However, they would have to work out the music licensing rights.
If not, they shouldn't bother releasing the series as the music was such an integral part of many of the episodes.
I can't imagine the licensing would be more expensive than all of the cumulative sales the 6 seasons would bring in dollars wise, considering it is the most requested show to be released - I'm sure tons of people would buy it after waiting for so long.
spunkygirl 01-03-2010, 08:13 AM I just want the rest of the Nanny on DVD and for Boy Meets World to be finished up

Scoobiedoo30 01-03-2010, 01:05 PM I am hoping season 2 of Benson will be coming out season 2 sometime in 2010
clarkkent 01-03-2010, 02:53 PM I really want to see more seasons of "227" released. It's my favorite comedy. Sony seems to give up on classic sitcoms after releasing one season. I understand they might not be big sellers but they should still release them. Maybe they could do what Shout! does, release them exclusively on their website to help cut costs. I also want to see seasons 6 and 7 of "Family Ties" Paramount/CBS seems to be taking a really long time with these. I'd also like to see "Webster" as well as "The Hogan Family".
Scoobiedoo30 01-03-2010, 03:05 PM I would like to see the west of The Season's of Who's The Boss? coming out on DVD.
MickeyMac 01-03-2010, 03:34 PM I am looking forward to the releases of season two for both Mr Ed and the Patty Duke Show. I am also plesed that they are starting up My Three Sons again, just wish they would put the whole season in one set instead of that part one, part two deal.
Also it would be nice if Shout Factory or someone would finish up Leave It To Beaver.
Forgot to mention Season 4 of Father Knows Best.
Scoobiedoo30 01-03-2010, 03:35 PM I am hoping to get Mr Ed Season 1 and season 2 in 2010

JulieSomoski 01-03-2010, 06:24 PM Every year we hope for The Wonder Years to come out, but every year it just doesn't happen. I can't imagine the music is THAT expensive. Sure, it had a lot of music, but many series with tons of music in it have been released on DVD (Swingtown and Glee come to mind). It's a shame that a studio won't step up and take on that challenge, even if it means releasing just the first 6 episodes as a trial run. I'd happily pay $20 for those 6 episodes if that's what it's going to take, and I'd imagine most other die-hard fans of the show would to.
Scoobiedoo30 01-03-2010, 06:35 PM do you think we will ever see season 7 of All in The Family season 7in 2010.
Cliff Barnes 01-03-2010, 07:00 PM I am surprised WB hasn't tried to start Family Matters and Step By Step, both have been big successes in reruns. I suppose they just have certain priorities, however Family Matters has been doing pretty well in reruns, I could see them at least trying the first year of that one at some point.
Scoobiedoo30 01-03-2010, 07:05 PM I hope both Family Matters and Step By Step come out this year.
bliggenstrauff 01-03-2010, 09:20 PM I also hope season 3 of Perfect Strangers will be released. We always need more Balki
TV_Fan 01-03-2010, 10:07 PM do you think we will ever see season 7 of All in The Family season 7in 2010.
Extremely unlikely unless Sony develops a burn on demand program like WB & MGM.
TeeVeeCloset 01-04-2010, 11:21 AM Every year we hope for The Wonder Years to come out, but every year it just doesn't happen. I can't imagine the music is THAT expensive. With new series such as "Glee", the music is already negotiated since they know its going to be released on DVD, as most series already are...but with old series, DVD wasn't thought of, so the music rights must be cleared and payed for, and yes music clearances are extremely expensive, 20 seconds of one song can be as much as $10,000 or more. The price and rules changed a few years ago.
Robert 13 01-04-2010, 01:10 PM I was hoping 2010 would be a promising year for tv-on-dvd. But it seems it's going to be another dry year. The only show of interest to me (if it happens) is Gimme a Break! The Complete Series.
I am also going to be getting The Patty Duke Show: Season 2 and Father Knows Best: Season 4, both of which have already been announced.
No other announcements have been made yet on shows I am interested in.
Would love to see continuations of:
The Facts Of Life
Laverne & Shirley
I gave up on Lucy's series long ago. Lost interest in Lucy Show and Here's Lucy. So I'm scratching those off my list.
It'll be good to get the 2 releases from Shout that are coming soon. :)
TV_Fan 01-04-2010, 07:51 PM Would love to see continuations of:
The Facts Of Life
Laverne & Shirley
What, no Silver Spoons  ?
Robert 13 01-05-2010, 10:38 AM What, no Silver Spoons  ?
I'm not really a Silver Spoons fan. But I do hope they continue it for you. I forgot to add Hart to Hart to my list.
Kasey 01-05-2010, 01:03 PM My wish list is:
IT'S A LIVING - Odds are highly unlikely, but this '80s gem remains at the top of my list, even if we only got Seasons 1 & 2, I'd be happy
DOBIE GILLIS - Rights issues are probably holding this one up
PHYLLIS - Again, highly unlikely, though Cloris has a high-enough profile, Shout may pick this one up
EIGHT IS ENOUGH - Rights issues because of the book
ALICE - Warner's just won't budge on this one, it seems
Many Stalled Series:
CHARLIE'S ANGELS - Release Season 5 and be done with it!
MAUDE
ONE DAY AT A TIME
FACTS OF LIFE
HAZEL
POLICE WOMAN - Sony seems to be holding so many of my shows hostage. License them out to Shout! then.
PETTICOAT JUNCTION - I read awhile back Season 3 is in the works

Totally agreed! We have similar DVD desires, see my extensive wish list on page one of this thread if interested and keep our fingers crossed for a promising 2010....so far to me, first quarter is quite busy with at least 8 sets on my list.
Jude The Obscure 01-05-2010, 02:11 PM I gave up on Lucy's series long ago. Lost interest in Lucy Show and Here's Lucy. So I'm scratching those off my list.
whaddya mean, giving up? As in you don't like the shows?
I mean if you don't, you don't.
But we know Shout! is committed to do HL as a complete series
CBS is working on season 2 of The Lucy Show.

I liked the shows. I just won't be buying them this year. I've shifted to "The Donna Reed Show" which is getting released much faster. So I have plenty of dvds to watch with the couple of releases coming up in the next few months. Also got "Charles in Charge" which was completed last year. I like consistancy in my dvd releases. Those lengthy waits between seasons make me lose interest. What can I say? I'm kinda fickle.
Jude The Obscure 01-05-2010, 03:02 PM oh I have plenty still to watch and they are piling up every quarter!
