Carrollton City Councilman Gerald Byrd, to the right in both photos, introduces musician and actor Canton Jones and Bern Nadette Stanis before presenting them with a key to the city Tuesday at an event for the locally produced film ‘Between Love & a Hard Place’ at A Place of Refuge Church Wednesday. Stanis, who portrayed Thelma in the television series ‘Good Times,’ is featured in the film alongside Jones.

Filming for the movie is expected to begin on Dec. 18 and wrap up on Jan. 4.
