In the good old days of TV Guide (with regional editions and full program listings for local stations), back when encapsulated descriptions were given for even syndicated reruns, the quote above--more or less verbatim per the ravages of time on my memory--turned up regularly to describe a certain I Love Lucy episode. Somehow I was never able to catch the rerun of ILL when so described.

So I'm curious if anybody remembers which episode that 1970s era TV Guide description refers to.

That listing sounds familiar, now that you mention it. I have tons of TV Guides from that era and used to read all those episode descriptions constantly. Back in those days, we didn't have episode titles like you can easily look up now. So all we had to go by were the synopses in TV Guide. If my memory serves me, I think that particular description was for "Mr. and Mrs. TV Show."
