Dear TV Land Viewer Services,

I have a proposal for TV Land: to make a deal with Sony Pictures Domestic Television Distribution for TV Land to have exclusivity in airing reruns of the hit 1984-1992 sitcom "Who's the Boss?," which starred Tony Danza as Tony Micelli, a former major leaguer for the St. Louis Cardinals whose young wife just died.

Not long after his wife died, Tony, age 28, and his 10-year-old daughter, Sam (played by Alyssa Milano), moved out of New York City and into Fairfield, Connecticut, where Tony became the live-in nanny of Angela Bower (played by Judith Light), a recently-divorced 32-year-old ad exec with a 7-year-old son, Jonathan (played by Danny Pintauro).

Other characters over the years included Angela's mom, Mona Robinson (played by Katherine Helmond), Jesse Nash (played by Scott Bloom), one of Sam's many different boyfriends over the years, and Billy (played by Jonathan Halyalkar), a neighborhood kid from Tony's Brooklyn neighborhood.

In Fall 1991, after a year of gradually declining ratings, "Who's the Boss?" moved from its comfortable 8 p.m. Tuesday night slot to Saturday nights at 8 p.m. At the end of that season, the series ranked #80 out of 102 shows.

As a result, Tony Danza decided that the time was long overdue to cease production on "Who's the Boss?" after 8 great years and 196 episodes.

Tentatively, TV Land shall add reruns of "Who's the Boss?" to its regular schedule on Monday, September 20, 2010 (26 years to the day of the show's debut) with a 5-night marathon titled "Danzin' with Danza: a Who's the Boss?" marathon, showcasing from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET/PT each night 30 memorable episodes complete, uncut, & unedited, as first seen on ABC.

After the marathon, TV Land shall welcome "Who's the Boss?" to its regular lineup by airing weeknights back-to-back at 10 p.m. ET/PT, only in TV Land.

Sincerely,
Grundoon Katt
