I watched the film "It's a Wonderful Life" and in real life, George Baily may have to be tried for fraud or something. Now, is that true that George Bailey losing $8000 would see his Building and Loans shut down?

He was so happy to be alive, he didn't even care if he went to jail but they all loved him so he didn't have to go.
