Hello,

I just can't hold back what I think anymore about the storyline on Golden Palace about Miles cheating on Rose. That really ruins the whole Rose/Miles situation for me if I dwell on the episode.

I think it was a terrible idea to break Miles and Rose up that way!

I mean, maybe the network, thinking there would be more than one season knew that the actor who played Miles didn't want to be involved in the show anymore; I don't know what his plans were, I'm just making a guess. But any other story would have been better than that.

That was just so annoying to me!

Oh me to Rose loved him sooo much and it seemed like he loved her only and was totaly devoted untill he cheated. She had to lose the 2 big loves of her life in a tragic way!

I feel that their relationship should have been left alone. I don't know why they used this storyline... if indeed the actor who played Miles wanted to leave, then either they should have left the relationship alone or done something else!

I mean, I am just amazed that this episode was allowed to happen!

Each time Rose and Miles had obstacles, they overcame them, but this is an obstacle that not only is impossible to overcome but just makes the loyal Golden Girls fan (like me) have a permanent distaste for Miles!

I never got into Golden Palace. I tried, but without Bea Arthur, it just didn't work. You had to have everyone - Bea, Betty, Rue and Estelle - for the chemistry.

In Golden Girls, the obstacles were usually of Rose's making - well, maybe obstacles in a relationship can't be of only one person's making, but she was usually the one who was "confused," or doubting whether she wanted to be with him:

Dancing in the Dark - thinking she's not smart enough

Twice in a Lifetime - she thinks she might still be interested in her old boyfriend

Triple Play - Miles never questions the relationship based on what Caroline says, but Rose does

Bloom is Off the Rose - he never seems to find her boring, and he's willing to go through with the sky-diving for her

Ro$e Love$ Mile$ - she's upset about his spending habits, he tries to change them (this one seems particularly superficial, maybe even out of character, for her, especially given that she's said Charlie was cheap! This is a Blanche thing)

Where's Charlie - scared of commitment, and thinking about what Charlie would think

And even though I realize the whole witness protection program story line didn't fit with the rest of the story lines in Golden Girls, he was risking his life to be with her, so it REALLY doesn't fit with Golden Palace.

First off, I have to defend the Golden Palace as being a terrific show. People needed to give the show a chance. Now, I will agree that the Miles/Rose relationship was dealt with a little too quickly on the show. I can buy what happened but wish it didn't happen.

To each their own but I didn't like The Golden Palace, wasn't a patch on The Golden Girls.

Not at all- GP had some cute moments, but it was nowhere near as good as GG. Heck, even GG in its last few seasons wasn't as good as GG in seasons1-4.

I also did not care for the turn of events, with Miles leaving Rose for another woman- and then them getting married in the hotel? Oy.
