Cartoon Network is developing a live-action project from writers Greg Coolidge and Kirk Ward.
The action comedy, which is being developed as a two-hour movie/backdoor pilot, centers on a teenager who gets more than he bargained for when his family sponsors a Japanese exchange student on a secret mission far greater than just surviving high school.
Coolidge and Ward would serve as executive producers, and Chris Cowles and Chris Fenton are producing. Coolidge also might direct.
A feature comedy spec by Coolidge and Josh Cagan was recently picked up by Warner Bros. with Morgan Freeman attached to star.
Coolidge also co-created the Nickelodeon series "The Troop" and co-wrote and directed the feature "Employee of the Month."
