do you think Fran is a good nanny? or simply lucky? believe that they have always had the ability to make the nanny or simply have found fortune?

I am inspired in particular the episode "Curse of the Grandmas" where Niles gets a job offer and Maxwell tells Fran that he being a good steward often receives offers.

Fran then asks why she did not ever receive offers from other people to do the nanny and Maxwell says that the reason is that he is a widower there are problems but that no wife would like someone like her in the house.

I think it's an excuse ....

I think it was obvious, that Fran wasn't "the perfect nanny". But still, she and the Sheffield kids got along really well right from the start. Hadn't the kids scared away several nannies, who might have seemed to have better qualifications, but who hadn't been able to handle them, when it really came down to it? And add to that her slowly growing relationship with Maxwell, their father, and her close friendship to Niles the butler. So as weird as it may seem at first glance, Fran obviously was what the Sheffield household needed.

I really don't think there is such thing as a generally "good" or "perfect" nanny, it just all depends on the family. Every group of kids out there are different, therefore there are different nannies that are perfect for them. Lol, and luckily the Sheffields found theirs.

There is so such a thing as a perfect nanny. Her name is Mary Poppins and she is practically perfect in every way! ;)

I totally agree with this.
