Dear Nick at Nite Viewer Services,
I have a proposal for Nick at Nite: to make a deal with NBC Universal Television Distribution for Nick at Nite to become the exclusive home of the hit 1947-1960 children's series "Howdy Doody," which, throughout its 13-year, 2343-performance run, was created by Bob Schmidt, who cast himself as Howdy Doody & Buffalo Bob Smith, the puppet and its puppeteer presiding over Doodyville in front of the Peanut Gallery, a.k.a. kids. Other cast members included the late Bob Keeshan as Clarabell the Clown, along with other puppets including Phineas T. Bluster.
Tentatively, Nick at Nite shall showcase regular repeats of "Howdy Doody" staring Monday, December 27, 2010 (63 years to the day of the show's debut) with a week-long salute to the show titled "Nick at Nite Says Howdy, Doody," showcasing 40 episodes (10 per night) featuring some of the most memorable moments in "Howdy" history, complete, uncut, & unedited, just the way that they originally aired on NBC. After the marathon, "Howdy Doody" shall air weeknights from 8-9 p.m. ET/PT, only on Nick at Nite.
Sincerely,
Grundoon Katt
