View Full Version : I really hate my ABC Affiliate!
MrCleveland 12-13-2009, 08:44 PM First-They play whatever local **** they can find and not AFV!
Second-When they play a News Interruption, they're like "Yeah, **** that. This **** is more important than some Motown Anniversary". I never got over that!
Third-I think the Cleveland ABC Affiliate WEWS doesn't exist...so that means...our city's Communist!
WEWS means...Wimpy Extreme Wrong S***! (I'm now boycotting WEWS and once I ever get cable...I'm going to find if I can get the ABC Chicago Affiliate)!
Pavan 12-13-2009, 09:35 PM If you were waiting for the AFV Christmas episode, it will re-air Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 8pm ET. Usually when a local ABC affiliate preempts ABC programming, they air it late night, so check your listings.
Scoobiedoo30 12-13-2009, 11:10 PM WEWS had AFV scheduled for 6:00 pm so might have been a last Mintue Decison I know how you feel I am not a fan when Local Station Pre-empt Prime Time Programming at the last mintue
catlover79 12-14-2009, 12:10 AM I remember how mad I always got whenever Channel 5 would preempt Whose Line is it Anyway to show a local special...then I'd have to record the show because they'd air the episode at like 3 or 4 in the morning.
Scoobiedoo30 12-14-2009, 01:40 AM Channel 8 would always Pre-Empt The TGIF Line up for Perry Mason Movies on Friday Night's and Back then Channel 8 did not Re-broad Prime Time Programming.

They did that twice. And one had Bob Saget on there. (I wonder what would happen if Bob Saget did his Stand-up on AFV)?
But yeah...I wish WEWS would get their **** together sometimes. Like when there was a stand-off at Case Western...it was nothing but WEWS News and nothing else! (Other Cleveland affiliates just showed it off and on...even CNN showed it)!

Maybe once Oprah leaves...WEWS could show something local or preempt something then.
...And people wonder why TV gets less ratings.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see what they put in Oprah's timeslot. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
Cactus Jack 12-14-2009, 06:39 PM Yes mine used to do that a lot during Complete Savages and stuff like that
robyrob 12-14-2009, 10:19 PM our ABC affiliate is horrible - they will preempt new episodes of primtetime shows all the time for stupid things like highschool basketball and football games, break away for "breaking news" like a stiff breeze several counties away from us and they rarely reair things late at night because they have paid programming overnights.
...still the local NBC is worse if only because they add extra bumpers to shows so you typically get to miss a few seconds every time they come back from commercials - especially maddening during Saturday Night Live when when you miss the beginning of every skit after a commercial
MrCleveland 12-15-2009, 04:38 PM Now if it was a Special that had an anniversary of their station, I wouldn't mind since they had clips like these.
Get ready to laugh....

Too bad that left like the 70's. ohno:
catlover79 12-15-2009, 05:16 PM Oh my gosh, I LOVED those!! Look how young Gib Shanley (may he RIP), Don Webster and Ted Henry were. Those clips sure bring back memories (even though I wasn't born yet, if that makes sense!).
Scoobiedoo30 12-15-2009, 05:20 PM I was just wondering did WEWS-ABC5 ever show AFV an if so what time
catlover79 12-15-2009, 05:44 PM Check out this clip of the Afternoon Exchange (which would later become Live on Five, as it still is today) - look how young Wilma Smith is - and Corky's and Lenny's Restaurant is still around in Cleveland!! :D
