I'm not sure when the world will end. But I always keep an overnight bag packed and ready, just in case it comes on short notice.

When the world comes to an end I hope I remember to change my telephone answering message to something like "Hi, it's Vito. I can't take your call right now, because it's the end of the world. But if you leave your name and number, I'll get back to you as soon as possible."

I think the whole world is way too concentrated on the end of things. The more you think about things ending, the less you are able to think about being able to affect things here and now.

It's like death; sure you need to keep it in mind but if you think about it all the time you waste all the wonderful moments along the way that make up your life. We need to balance our own mortality with the wonder of our own existence.

Hopefully long after I'm dead and gone.
