Just thought that I would post this observation...it made me chuckle. IT seems that "Tony" from the Adam Hecht story just made a new commercial. He plays a postman for the USPS commercial for those flat rate priority boxes ("IF it fits, it ships") The commercial shows the postal employees at some sort of press conference...I think it is holiday themed. But definitely keep your eyes out for it!:lol:
Is it just me, or does "Tony" appear in a lot of commercial? I remember in a thread from years ago how Tony appeared in I think a Days Inn commercial...you know, with I've Been Everywhere song (Johnny Cash?) He was in a train station and talking about "getting home right on time"
Tony reminds me of the guy who played Wadada. Out of all the UM actors, I have seen them the most in other roles! (Well, accept from Matthew McCaughnehey...sorry about the spelling!) Wadada played a music student in hanging with Mr. Cooper, and a hairdresser on Cybil. I could swear he was also a cab driver in Home ALone 2...but for some reason his scene was cut from the video version.
Speaking of Adam Hecht, were there ever any updates about him? Is he listed on Doe network or charley project? Do you think TOny had anything to do with his disappearance?

I remember reading that "Tony" (well, the guy who plays him) was on the show JAG as well.

As for Adam Hecht, I do suspect that there was some foul play and his disappearance was likely not of his own volition. I think that Adam's heart was in the right place in wanting to help the less fortunate. However, many of these people are dangerous - a lot are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol or are mentally ill. I think Adam was naive to the reality of life on the streets and was likely taken advantage of and murdered by someone he encountered while mingling with the homeless.

It's hard to say if Tony was involved, but I feel that he probably was in some capacity. He was living in Adam's apartment until he was forcibly evicted by the family. He tried to assault Adam's mother. He also implied to the brother that he had some information.

I am not aware of any updates in this case.

Wow! That guy gets around! I never noticed him in any commercials, but he must be a good actor. He really really creeped me out in his role on UM.

Look down board. Someone just asked about Adam Hecht the a couple days ago and I posted his doe network page. No updates as far as I know. I think he was probably targeted and killed or severely beaten because he probably stood out as someone who has money. If it was not Tony who did it, it was probably someone that Tony put him in contact with.

I just realized that I have a friend who reminds me a lot of Adam Hecht. He has a really good heart, but is very naive when it comes to dealing with those one the margins of society. He was recently victimized (financially) by someone he was trying to help, and the person is sort of stalking him now. In light of the Adam Hecht case, I really fear for his safety!

I tend to agree with you guys that Adam Hecht's heart was in the right place, but he was very naive, and he had no idea what he was getting into. He didn't know Tony that well, and didn't know what Tony's background was. From waht I saw in the segment, Tony seemed like he was mentally ill. I do agree that if tony wasn't responsible, then it was perhaps someone tony knew. I do believe that whoevever was responsible for adam hecht's disappearance took his kindness for a vulnerability.

At the end of he segment, Adam's brother said he run into Tony on the streets a couple of years since the disappearance. Tony said the cryptic words "if you go out on the streets, maybe you might learn something (sic)"

Tony could be almost anwhere by now. If he died, he would be a John Doe in an unmarked grave if he's lucky. He could be a cadaver in an anatomy class. If he's on the streets still who knows where he is or if he can be contacted again.

So very true, Mastermind...Tony could just as well have been working a scheme the whole time. And especially after the passage of 2 decades it would be virtually impossible to find him. If he died, then he could very well be a John Doe himself. No one knows him, or perhaps might want to claim his body. And also, perhaps his family doesn't know where he is or doesn't care to know where he is, whether he is alive or dead. My mom works in a hospital and oftentimes has encountered homeless patients whose families have turned them away, either because of drugs, mental issues, some crime that they may have committed. Who knows what Tony's story was...how he ended up on the streets, or whatever happened to him after the brother saw him.

Well I suppose I'm in the minority here but I've always felt he left of his own accord. IMO Adam and 'Tony' were both a little mentally off; 'Tony' was obviously and Adam seemed to drop everything in his very privileged life to take up with this homeless weirdo.

As I think of his case and others I see from time to time on charley project, it occurs to me that some people seem to spontaneously develop mental illness for some reason or another, or that at the least some sort of event may trigger something just waiting underneath the surface. A good example is (I think her name is) Patricia Meehan, the lady who was normal by all accounts and then just up and disappeared after a minor accident. On Charley Project & Doe Network I've noticed quite a few people who seem to wander off into oblivion after a very minor event. There may be some aspects to the human mind we just aren't aware of.

On another note, it would've been nice if a polygraph had been performed on this 'Tony' fellow. At the time he was interviewed the police could not have known it would be decades continuing to pass with Adam gone and missing. The B.Hills p.d. seemed to drop the ball a bit on this one. I bet they didn't even check the apartment for any forensics.

I almost forgot! I'm pretty sure I saw the guy who played Tony in Avatar. It was towards the beginning of the movie, and he was one of the military officers.

I just checked his imdb profile, Scott "Tony" Lawrence is going to be sixty four this year which means he was in his early forties when he did UM. I tell ya he looked in his mid-twenties when he was on UM. Guy found the fountain of youth.

No one seems to mention this much, but I found it strange that when they found Adam's car, it was still in tact! Money, keys etc. It had apparently been sitting there and no one broke in???

I know, I don't understand why the car wasn't discovered or broken into earlier.

I remember the guy who played "Tony" was also in an episode of Without A Trace, along with having a small role in the movie Timecop as well. He'd probably make a good candidate to play Barack Obama in something, as he resembles him quite a bit too! (L.O.L.!)
