Well, my good compatriots, almost a month and a half ago, I had the pleasure of viewing the premiere telecast of the original New Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape Show for the first time on WHV's Saturday Moring Cartoons - 1970s Volume 2 DVD, having purchased it (and SMC - 1960s Volume 2) that morning @ Wal-Mart for a paltry pittence of $43. And, let me tell you, it was an experience that I can only sum up in three words in the American English language:

MONEY WELL SPENT!!!!!!!!

Not only are the original Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape Show interstitials included on the set, the entire show has been restored, with crisp and clear quality, from the original 35mm interpositive masters, despite all rumors to the contrary that they were lost! (As ye seek, so shall ye find.) Also, mini-previews of what episodes are to come preceding commercial breaks have been included. The original Main Title itself boasts a backing track which was later used for The Mumbly Cartoon Show syndicated Main Title in 1977. (I've obsessed endlessly over the Main Title since! :D )

It totally made my day. As a fan who missed out on the original run on ABC Funshine Saturday in 1975-76 and grew up watching afterschool reruns (obviously altered for syndication), it was a total blessing. This blessing is evident in a few updates on my New T&J Info Site (http://www.1975tomjerry.50megs.com/), where I have added and updated pictures and stanzas to the original Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape Show Main Title.

So, hopefully for SMC - 1970s Volume 3, we can expect to see an actual 60-minute installment of The Scooby Doo/Dynomutt Hour, to make up for the infamous "Complete Series" DVD set back in 2006! We're counting on you, Warner...

The Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape Show - The Complete Series, here we come!!!!!!!!!!
