Emergency is off of the lineup starting January 1st. The last day is december 31st.

Quite frankly, TV Land sucks.

How do you guys know that Emergency! and Adam 12 are leaving TV Land?

Over at the General Sitcoms Discussion Board there is a post giving the new TV Land schedule for 2002. Emergency and A-12 aren't on it. Neither is Dragnet.

That's great. When will we ever see these shows again? The last time I saw Emergency! was when I was 5 (in syndicated reruns back in '79.) and I don't really remember ever seeing Adam 12 before it aired on TV Land! And to think, I was just getting reaquinted with Emergency!, which was one of my early childhood favorites and was just starting to watch Adam 12. I know that Columbia House has the videotapes but they don't have all of the episodes. I have a lot of Emergency! episodes on tape, but I wanted all of them. Had I known they were gonna pull off Adam 12 I might have taped them also.

They also like to edit the hell out of these shows. Did you notice that even some of the good shows that they're continuing to play are going to be in crappy timeslots? And the funny part is that the cast of Emergency appeared on Adam 12 in one episode and Reed and Malloy appeared in the Emergency pilot movie. Go figure!

Emergency started before Adam-12 -- January 1999. Adam-12/Dragnet came in February 1999.

Reed was there a few times. Malloy was on one that I can't remember the name of. I think both the guys were in that episode.

Emergency will probably be back on TV Land at a latter time. They pull shows sometimes for a period of time then bring them back at a later time. If it is gone I will sure miss the entire gang.

I will really miss Emergency! when it leaves TV Land. Yes, hopefully it will return sometime in the near future, after a break from air time. This was one of the first shows I watched when TV Land was brought to my cable line-up, and I absolutely loved it from the beginning. I don't watch it as much anymore, as I have practically seen all of the episodes. Hope it comes back to an excellent timeslot in the future. :cool:

I have to agree. Adam-12 was taken off before and then brought back. I heard how rare EMERGENCY was to be aired again, but you have to tape what you can get. I taped only the pilot and that's it. I do have a couple of Adam-12 and Dragnet episodes. In fact, I have a rare Dragnet episode made in the 50's and it had Jack Webb promoting, I think Chesterfield cigarettes. My favorite Adam-12 I think was the one where a Police officer was shot and killed and Reed and Malloy saw the pain that it caused that officer's family. It was a powerful, yet timeless episode. :wave:

Are you talking about "Elegy for a Pig?" That was a very good episode. Very real and powerful. Of course, if you ask me, the only bad A-12 episode is "Clinic on Eighteenth Street." Reed and Malloy weren't hardly in that one. It was all Sharon Gless and Frank Sinatra Jr.

A little bit of information for those who didn't know this-- Bobby Troup who played Dr. Joe Early on Emergency wrote the theme song for the TV series Route 66.

It sure looks that way. All together it looked like it might have been an okay series, just not within the context of an episode of Adam-12. They were working for the district attorney (I think). Typical Jack Webb stuff we all love!

We should start a tape trading thing. Only problem is the A-12 episodes I have are all in LP and when my duel deck transfers LP in comes with this stupid looking red tint. :( :p Dumb machine.

Actually, Nelson Riddle wrote the theme to the TV show, but Bobby Troup did write "Get Your Kicks on Route 66." :)

I just tried it out and it looks good. I got a cable that connects my duel deck to my primary VCR and it works a lot better that way.

Anybody else read what Postmaster Steve has on the TV Land "Write To Us" about Emergency, Dragnet, and Adam-12? If not, here's what's on there:

Even in TV Land, all good things must come to an end eventually. I am sorry, but our contracts for those shows expire December 30. We no longer have legal access to the shows after that, so we can no longer air them. We realize that this might be especially troubling to fans of Emergency! because January is a milestone anniversary of the show but again, this is an unfortunate legal issue over which we no control.

That's the unfortunate news, folks. :crying:

I've got a feeling that they are going to give Emergency!, along with Adam-12 and Dragnet a rest for awhile. These shows have been on TV Land for awhile now (if I am not mistaken), and I hate to say it, but they'll probably shelve them for a couple of years, if not longer. Hey, it doesn't hurt to write TV Land and express your support of the shows, because the more requests they get for these shows, the more they'll renew the contract. Let's hope it comes back soon! :wave:

BTW, does anyone know what happened to the website Adam-12.com? I used to surf the site regularly for awhile, then forgot about it. Now, months later I go back, and an error message pops up. Just curious as to the fate of this website. :confused:

As far as Adam-12.com, let me see if I got any of this right. The guy who ran it was a member of an A-12 group I belong to and from what I think I gathered, Universal TV (who I believe owns the broadcast rights) sued him for the domain name and he lost, so there will be no more website unless Universal decides to do something with it (which they probably won't). Another case of big business stepping on the little guy. :(

Aww, man. I hate it when the big corporations win! :mad: Why do they always have to win? Like you say, Universal will never do anything with the domain name, so why fight the guy for it? I thought he was doing a wonderful job with the site (the last I saw of it), and it's just unfortunate it turned out that way. :(

adam-12 can on tv in 1968 and emergency came on in 1972 and now they are on deja view everyday at noon and 7pm emergency is on every saturday at midnight on the new vr in canada and dragnet is on after adam 12 on deja view and on sundays the new dragnet is on its ok ed
