Cleveland Indians center fielder Grady Sizemore says legal action has been taken after pictures of himself in various stages of dress and undress appeared on an Internet site Sunday morning.
"These pictures were stolen illegally from my girlfriend's email," Sizemore told The Plain Dealer on Sunday night. "It's now a legal matter that is under investigation. I can't say anything more."
MLB and the players association are said to be investigating the matter on Sizemore's behalf.
At least 15 pictures of Sizemore appeared on the Web site. He is alone in all of them. He's taking pictures of himself with a cell phone while looking into a bathroom mirror in several of them.
In some pictures Sizemore is fully dressed. In others, he's in his underwear or nude.
"I have not seen the pictures," said GM Mark Shapiro, "but I will look into it."
Sizemore said the pictures were meant for his girlfriend only.
Last season Sizemore, considered the face of the Indians' organization, played with two injuries that required surgery in September. He underwent surgery on his left elbow and for a sport hernia. He suffered both injuries in spring training.
Sizemore hit a career-low .248 (108-for-436) with 73 runs, 20 doubles, six triples, 18 homers and 64 RBI. Sizemore, 27, is a three-time All-Star and two-time Gold Glove winner.

Think that's against the law.
Doesn't he know, your e-mails are really not only for you and the person you send?
catlover79 11-30-2009, 12:22 AM I think I hear the stampede of "Grady's Ladies" (what his large female fan base here in Cleveland is called) rushing to their computers as we speak!!
MrCleveland 11-30-2009, 03:27 PM Don't be surprised that those pics go on a shock site like 4chan or encyclopedia dramatica.
catlover79 12-01-2009, 12:09 AM Talk about getting caught with your pants down!! :o

I don't believe so.
Nude photos by e-mail are only illegal if:
a) it involves minors in any way.
b) if they are sent to a party that does not want the photos
c) if they are sent without the consent of the one in the photos

That's true, but due to his celebrity profile and the number of computer hackers out there (someone hacked the pics from his girlfriend's Yahoo account), he maybe should've thought twice before emailing the pics. Just my $0.02!

Perhaps... yeah it was a dumb thing to do but I do not think that he will be facing any legal trouble; it's all on those that stole the photos.
He should just let it go, IMO. He ain't got NOTHIN' to be ashamed of, that's for sure.

Yeah, on our local news they said that neither the Indians nor MLB are going to punish him. This was done on his own time and has nothing to do with baseball, so that makes sense. But the Indians are investigating the hacker, of course.
P.S. Maybe I just have a dirty mind, but can you imagine how many puns people are going to make out of his last name due to this scandal??

That's what several random women basically said when they did one of those "man on the street" things during the afternoon news.

Well, if that happens the hacker/s are still out there and who knows what else they can (and will) intercept. Better to know who it is and put it to a stop.

LOL Well, it's true. I say enjoy the free publicity. Nobody follows baseball as it is, and for the near future, he'll be bigger than A-Rod.
"bigger" than "A"-"Rod"

I get what you're saying, but at the same time...this is probably just another Perez disciple who feels it's his/her duty to publicize things like that. Of course, the law was broken, and those responsible should be prosecuted, but Sizemore can lay off the "embarrassed" act. He's "bare assed," not "embarrassed."

Meh, it will probably make the jokes for a month or two and the hype will be over.

Yeah that's what I was trying to get at, lay off the embarrasment and not the legal stuff.
catlover79 12-01-2009, 01:42 AM The funny thing is that my brother-in-law's best friend looks uncannily like Grady - I believe people have even asked for his autograph, thinking that he IS Grady. I wonder how bad he'll get teased because of this.
catlover79 12-01-2009, 01:33 PM Here's Adam (my brother-in-law's best friend, seen here with my sister on his wedding day) and Grady. Separated at birth??

 I will. I looked up Grady's birthday - he's actually a year older than Adam.
