....Fred officially referred to his position as "executive building engineer" [to which someone sneers, "I don't care if you ARE the janitor!"]. Incidentally, Herb Finn adapted this script from his 1956 "HONEYMOONERS" episode, "Dial J For Janitor" [Ralph Kramden was supposed to move into a basement apartment in the script (as Fred did), but Jackie Gleason decided to keep the main action right in Kramden's apartment].

Fred referred to his job at The Bedrock Towers as "Resident Stationary Engineer." I also remember the scene when Mr. Slate and his wife came to the building to look at an apartment so Fred put on a disguise.

I KNEW someone would get Fred's exaggerated "job title" right- and I appreciate it, 'howilu'. Let's face it, I haven't seen that episode in a long time!
