In case this hasn't already been mentioned at this forum (and please pardon me if it has), actor Dennis Cole died on November 15. He was 69 years old. The last I checked, the cause of his death has not been publicly disclosed.

You undoubtedly recall that Dennis Cole was interviewed on UM in 1996, when the show aired a segment about the December 1991 murder of his son Joe. Of course, Joe's friend, rock singer Henry Rollings, was also interviewed in the segment.

As mentioned in the link below this message, Joe Cole's murder remains unsolved. Sadly, Dennis died without ever knowing who killed Joe. :(

Very sad indeed, RIP Dennis Cole. I would imagine he died of a heart attack or something along those lines but who knows? I have not been able to find any indication as to the cause of death. The last few years had been rough ones for Dennis Cole. In addition to losing his son back in 91, the last couple of years had just added to it. Going through a nasty divorce from his third wife which I believe became final earlier this year. He also barricaded himself inside a bedroom in his Fort Lauderdale home in 2007 when the police were trying to serve an arrest warrant for domestic violence on him and he had to be forcibly removed from the residence. So clearly, so much hurt, so much pain going on there. I hope he finds peace in the afterlife that he did not have the last nearly 20 years of his life.

That's so sad! :( In the segment, that poor man looked so heart broken about his son, we could all feel his pain. May he rest in peace.

I read that he overdosed on perscription drugs and his body had shut down.

That's terrible. I always felt so bad for him and Henry Rollins. It's terrible losing a son or friend like that, and never knowing who was responsible.

To lose a child to homicide - or lose a child in any case - is terrible. But the mere fact that Dennis Cole spent the rest of his life not knowing who committed the crime only added insult to injury. Sadly, if or when Joe Cole's murder is eventually solved, it will be too late for his father. :(
