The stadium is being built. There are flurries of talks and hushed whispers. It's all but a given: At least one team is almost certain to move to Los Angeles. At least one additional relocation idea has been floated but it only applies to one specific team. (See below). Regardless, it's in the cards: At least one team will be moving to Los Angeles. There have been over a hundred thousand ticket inquiries, even.
There are seven known candidates to move. Who do YOU think will go. :
Jacksonville. They can't even get their stadium 2/3 full on a good day, any more. 17,000 fans cancelled their season tickets this year. Plus it's a tiny market.
Minnesota. Stadium issues? Check. Owner threatening a move? Check.
St. Louis. 15 years ago Georgia Frontiere dragged the Rams kicking and screaming to her native St. Louis. The stadium, while not ancient, isn't particularly nice either. Throw in sagging attendance due to being as terrible as they are, and there you go. And if St. Louis relocates, the divisional alignments could finally make sense again.
Oakland. The Raiders are terrible. Their stadium is terrible. Oakland...terrible. A clean start might be in order across the state. They *too* are an Ex-LA team, so they'd fit right back in. And no divisional re-alignment needed!
San Francisco. Oakland's cross-bridge counterpart. Seems more likely to stay (Los Angeles 49ers makes NO sense, first of all), and more likely to get the stadium money from the San Fran-San Jose-Oakland trifecta.
Buffalo. The only team on the shortened list with TWO possible destinations. The Bills moving to Toronto is discussed nearly every week. Bills are a small market team, the stadium could use a refresh, and their fanbase has shrunk as the team's fortunes wane.
San Diego. Also need a new stadium. Also involve the shortest overall move - just from SD to LA.
