Dennis Cole, chiseled blonde actor who appeared in dozens of TV shows throughout the '60s and '70s, died Nov. 15 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He was 69.
Born in Detroit, Cole got his start as a model and stuntman before starting his acting career on soap "Paradise Bay."

He played a hunky detective in "Felony Squad," leading to roles in series such as "Bracken's World" and "Bearcats!"

Among his TV series credits are "Medical Center," "Barnaby Jones," "Police Story," "Love American Style," "Love Boat," "Streets of San Francisco" and "Police Woman." While appearing on "Charlie's Angels," he met and married Smith, to whom he was married until 1981.

In the 1980s, he moved on to appear on "The Young and the Restless," "Murder, She Wrote," and "Baywatch." He also worked on stage in plays including "The Tender Trap," "Lovers and Other Strangers" and "The Boys in the Band."

Cole was injured while performing on a national tour of "Victor/Victoria" and spent three years recovering. After his recovery, he worked in the real estate business in Florida.

In 1991, his son Joe was killed in an attempted robbery, and Dennis Cole later worked with the Nicole Simpson family to raise awareness for victims of crime as well as with charities including the Cancer Society and the Arthritis and Cystic Fibrosis foundations.

He is survived by a brother.

Oh, I remember him!! He was Jaclyn Smith's one-time husband and guested on a couple of Charlie's Angels episodes. He replaced John McCook (now Eric on Bold & Beautiful) as Lance Prentiss on Young & Restless back in 1980. I was sorry to read of his personal problems in his later life (like the murder of his son, which I don't think was ever solved). May Mr. Cole :rip:.

I've read several articles of his passing online and they all said cause of death was not released at press time.

Dennis appeared with Jaclyn on an episode of 'The Love Boat'. He also appeared on 'Three's Company' as an actor that Terri fell for.

I'm not surprised. The latest News item is from 2005, so I don't think that there's anyone maintaining it and keeping it up to date.

True, but you'd think someone would be able to get into it and get it up to date. Oh well...:(
