Did you know that WPGA, the ABC station in Macon, GA, will no longer be an ABC station starting 1/2010 due to what the station's owner, Lowell Register, thinks is "gay stuff"? Seriously!

Last I heard, if you didn't like what a particular station was showing, you didn't have to look at it-- you could change the channel. Somehow, I think that Mr. Lowell Register is trying to take away some of the choice in Macon. After all, there are those there who do like looking at ABC, and also, Register is not the only one who lives in Macon, last I heard. The Macon Telegraph had asked Register why WPGA was getting rid of ABC, and he said, “I had somebody tell me they’re running a good bit of gay and lesbian stuff on it, that’s really just in-your-face so to speak, and I’m not sure that’s appropriate. That’s happening in prime time,” he said. “I’m not really happy with it.” Hello! Like I said, if you don't like it, you don't have to look at it, but you don't have the right to take it away from those who do like looking at it.

Apparently, Lowell Register doesn't subscribe to the old maxim "if you don't like
it, change the channel," but rather, "if you don't like it, take it away from those who do." That's just a guess, but that's how I interpret it.
