which show is better and why? my vote goes to my so-called life, because, it is so much more realistic than fandG, which don't get me wrong was a very good show, but just not real enough.

I have to say I like both of these shows and I don't think either of them were given a fair chance to succeed. It seems to me that sometimes it takes a little longer for a show to find it's audience. I really enjoyed both shows and I was so disappointed when I found out they were cancelled. I would have loved to see a second season of Freaks and Geeks.

If I had to choose between the two, I guess I would choose Freaks and Geeks because it was a little more light-hearted.

Freaks and Geeks definitely for me. My So Called Life seemed a little too dark, like there was no hope at all for the characters. It's good if a story is dark too as long as it's genuine and has real emotion like it did but it was just too depressing for my tastes. It always seemed like there was going to be an unhappy ending or some horrible, unfortunate thing was going to happen to someone every week. Too overly dramatic and too much of a downer for me. And I totally disagree. Freaks and Geeks was VERY realistic. I was a lot like the main male character Sam (except I wasn't into playing D&D) but not as skinny and got pushed around sometimes like that and I definitely knew guys like his friends. Freaks and Geeks was an attempt (and a quite successful one) at doing a show with people that actually look like your average high school students, rather than some glamorous twentysomethings made to look like they're still teenagers. It was like the anti-90210. Executive Producer Judd Apatow and Creator Paul Feig even based it on their own experiences as teens when they were growing up. It shows the type of people you don't usually see portrayed on a lot of shows, even today. Apatow even tried the same kind of concept again with Undeclared and he was again cancelled after just one season, but it was cool how he got a lot of the actors from Freaks And Geeks to make guest appearances.

I agree, I loved freaks and Geeks and thought it was a good show and if given more of a chance I thought that it could have done well

I liked Freaks and Geeks better than My So Called Life as well. Freaks and Geeks had a lot more humor to it and the characters were a lot more interesting than the ones on My So Called Life.

My vote goes to Freaks and Geeks, mainly because it was set during the early-80s, a time that I'm a little obsessed with!!! :crazy: My So-Called Life was very good however and I was sad that it was cancelled so quickly. Claire Danes really was great in that role and had the disaffected 90s-proto-teen down pat!!! :)

That's how I feel about both shows. I like Freaks and Geeks more also.

I'd have to go with Freaks and Geeks because the show is set in the early 80s. I was a senior in High School in 1981 and the show brought me alot of memories. :cool: :)
