I think many of us are eager to collect the final year of Milwaukee episodes. Surely, they must plan to release this at some point in the future. :)

I hope so!! Two of the show's best episodes (IMHO) came from this season - on the dramatic side, you had Ted Danson as Laverne's tragic fireman boyfriend, and on the hilarious side, you had the hilarious "Betty, please pick up!" episode at the diner.

I've been wishing they would release Season 5 too. It's one of my favorite shows.

I just read the other post about AOL TV's news byte about the top 10 shows still not complete on dvd. I couldn't find the original article though. Anyhow, it brings this back to the front again. Hopefully, CBS Paramount will notice the article and, at least, release the 5th season (last year of Milwaukee episodes). I would glady buy the rest of the seasons. But I would, at least, like to complete the Milwaukee years.

If Season 5 would be released, I would gladly buy it to complete the Milwaukee years (not really interested in the California seasons).

Okay, totally in the minority over here, but the first California season of Laverne and Shirley wasn't bad. As much as Season 5 had it's gems (Betty, pick up, please!) the writers were sort of straining for storylines at that point. Granted, the California season was heavily based in the "fish out of water" mindset, but it was fresh for a while.

That being said, as wonderful as Ed Marinaro was on "Sisters", "Hill Street Blues", and even "Grand", his Carmine-lite character on L&S was pretty weak.

The second California season was pretty weak. Both actresses looked to old to play their characters, and the writing, acting, and even set dressing had a "we no longer care" vibe to it. Even the Penny/Cindy chemistry was off, and Laverne and Shirley didn't seem to be as close of friends as they had in the past.

I, actually, really like the California episodes too. It did change a bit in Seasons 7 and 8. It wasn't the same as the beginning but I still have a fondness in my heart for these episodes. Even Laverne on her own was a joy to watch. It did feel kinda bittersweet on the final episode though. Didn't really feel like a proper farewell to the show.

I know. Surely, sales for the first four seasons must have been reached by now so that they may consider releasing Season 5. I know Cindy Williams would probably do commentary on the Moosejaw Express episode as it is one of her favorites.

Hey Happy Days fan. I totally thank god for tvshowondvd.com where we all can read what’s coming out. I was reading on that website how Time Life has worked with Universal Studios to digital restore with everything intact both the original Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman.
That should tell us all something that if a company is will to team up with a dominating company like time life. Life for the studios would be so easy.
I had recently emailed Gord Lacey the founder of tvshowsondvd.com . And I was telling him, that based on the tough decision of whether or not CBS/PARAMOUNT TELEVISION will ever release any of these iconic television sitcoms. That they should at least try to team up with either Time Life or Shout Factory. If they are having that much trouble.
I certainly think and honestly believe that after while companies like Time Life and Shout Factory. Might buy the rights to these television shows. And show them on dvd’s the way in which it should be showed. Any way I had asked Mr. Lacey about the suggestion of CBS teaming up with a company like time life or shout factory. He said that CBS could have had, or was considering working with Shout Factory. Mr. Lacey said and I quote
CBS makes it difficult for third parties to license shows from them. To me it shows that CBS is not concern whether or not Happy Days, Laverne& Shirley or Mork & Mindy is on dvd. They must be that cheep or arrogant. To me they are running out of options. If I had the chance to work with Shout Factory of Time Life, I would do that in a heart beat.
My old high school teacher used to tell me this, that if you see a bridge that you cannot
get passed you build another. If CBS PARAMOUNT is that cheep, then why even bother to put any of the season out. that’s all I am going to say. Should CBS team up with one of these companies.

For those who are tired of waiting you can purchase seasons 5-8 on ioffer.com. That's what I did a few months ago. They are edited, recorded from syndicated reruns, but it's better than nothing if you really want to see the rest of the series. Seasons 5 & 6 are probably my favorites of the entire series. Season 7 really went downhill for me. It's suprising it was even renewed for an 8th year, especially since Cindy Williams left. I haven't watched the eighth season yet.
