Family Ties Forever!

I know it's a couple weeks ago. Anyone going anywhere for Thanksgiving? I'll be in Florida visiting my brother and family for Thanksgiving (11/25-12/1).

Not exactly sure where I'll be, but as always it will be at a relative's house somewhere here in Southern California.

And I definitely won't be serving Thanksgiving dinner at my house. I don't know nothin' about cookin' no turkey!

I'm going to Spokane and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my leave for Friday is approved since I already bought the plane tickets! Ha ha!

I would love to go away but I have to work the next day. Black Friday... :(

I still will be cooking though.

I don't know what we'll be doing yet. My sister and brother-in-law usually host Thanksgiving but may go to visit his parents in NY. If so, then it will probably be just my parents, my brother and I.

I'll be freezing my tushy in NYC at the Macy's parade!!

2 of my cousins(who live in NJ) are going with me, my sister & my brother.

Then for dinner, don't know where we're going yet. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up at my aunt's house.

Then we're flying home Sat. rather than Sun. None of us want to deal with the hoards of people trying to get home on Sun.!!

The usual dinner with family. A buddy of mine usually has a party at his pad on turkey day,so hopefully thats going down. Around the weekend me and some of my friends do a "friendsgiving", in which we meet at someone's house and bring a dish to pass. The last few ones were really special and better than the Thanksgiving's with my family (if I told my mother that she would flip out).

I'm not sure what I'm doing yet. But I'll probably be spending Thanksgiving with my parents.

Since my mom & my wifes mother are gone, Thanksgiving or any holiday just isn't the same :( We usually go to my sister in laws.

I plan to have a nice quiet Thanksgiving Day with some dear friends. Maybe take in the Macy's Day Parade. I SO LOVE this holiday. It's my favorite. How Fleet feels abt Halloween I feel abt Thanksgiving. But I'm going to try to be good and watch the carbs (boy! this a hard holiday for that)

Frankly, one of my pet peeves is how more and more it seems this holiday gets glossed over as we just move on the express lane to Xmas (HELLO greedy merchants - Christmas is in late Ded- you couldn't wait for 12:01 am the day after Thanksgiving maybe?)

I'll be at home, and probably at my brothers after the Thanksgiving Day comes to a close.

Going to Spokane, Washington for the weekend. We've only been there once; overnight and didn't get to see a lot so this should be fun.

I'm sure we will have turkey and perhaps ham over the Thanksgiving break. One thing is for sure, I won't go anywhere near the stuffing - yuck! :)

No school after Tuesday, and not doing TV for the rest of the week. That will give me more time to read all these books, and play all these records I got my hands on recently. Wednesday night on, good times. :)

My mom's getting out of the hospital on Tuesday, and she's driving down with my bro and dad to spend Thanksgiving with me. We made a deal, Dad makes the turkey and I make everything else. I've been practicing all week. Just made a sweet potato pie from scratch! :eat:

:cheer: Go ME! :cheer:

I'm heading to New Jersey tomorrow for a few days with the folks. I just realized I haven't seen them since Labor day weekend! The job I just finished had me working a lot of weekends, so i haven't visited. We'll be doing the usual feast at my brother's house.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'll be going to a friend's house for Thanksgiving. It's not the same for me since the passing of all my immediate family members, and I don't pretend that it will be. But I still want to honor the holiday and make the best of it; it's what my mom would have wanted me to do.
