(Nov. 5) -- At least seven people were killed Thursday and another 20 people were wounded in a mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas, local television reports said.

NBC affiliate KCEN said one suspect was in custody and one or two others were being sought.

KDFW, the Fox News station in Dallas, said the attack happened at the Soldier Readiness Center.

Army personnel said they did not know immediately whether the victims were civilians or military personnel.

The post was placed on lockdown. That includes nine schools located there.

Thread title Edited as death and wounded toll rises. :(

Shepard Smith says AP is reporting a name for the suspected shooter, but he won't go with it until the military confirms it.

Good for him.

And of course, condolences to the families of those killed and wounded. A horrible day in America.
