Hi Everyone,
I thought to write because I was curious to know more about Nyleen Kay marshall's mom, Nancy. I recall another thread where a relative had indicated that Nancy was murdered in Mexico, about 1996? I was curious as to whether this was true. I was hoping that it was not. I tried to google both Nyleen's name, as well as the name Nancy marshall (even though Nancy marshall is a common name) but have not found any news stories about her. I even tried to search on Find a Grave. Would anyone have a link to the message about Nancy's mother's death?
Do you think that Nyleen herself is still alive? I remember reading elsewhere that, given the 25 years that have passed, it might be unlikely, and Nyleen's abductor could have done away with her after some time. I certainly hope that she could still be alive somewhere but that, being that she was so young, she might not remember her family.
Also, what do you think of the composite sketch of the "man and woman who were wanted for child abduction in another part of the country?" I remember that Nyleen's uncle thought he saw them both at a search party for Nyleen. however, I am doubtful about whether they could have been involved in the case. IMO, the sketches that I saw were not the best (actually they were a bit scary...I have always had a fear of UM composites, anyhow). They were very 2-dimensional, and seemed almost generic, as if it would be hard for anyone to make a positive ID from them. And how could they have appeared in Montana if they were wanted in another part of the country? What do you think? Also, do you know any more details about that child-abduction case?
Thanks greatly for your information!

It is possible that she's alive. Depends on the motives of her abducters.

If she was abducted for the purpose of raising as the abductor(s) own child, then she very well could be alive with no memory of her original parents.

If she was kidnapped by a pedophile, odds are she dead a long time ago. However, recent events may disprove that theory.

The letters that were written still intrigue me. Granted they are probably a hoax, but they are the only piece of evidence in this case. I wonder if anyone has tried to get DNA of those letters?

Now I'm now completely sure but I think I CD had a friend in the Police dept or something like that who was able to confirm Nancy Marshall's death.

I know someone who works at the Doe Network. I asked her about this and she contacted the Sheriff's Dept. They did confirm that Nancy died and in what year (can't remember the exact year but its in a thread somewhere) but thats all they said. I'm sure its tougher to find more info about the case since it happened in Mexico. I even had a poster from Mexico try to find info about it from there and he came up empty.

Nancy Marshall's death adds an extra thick layer of tragedy to this abduction case. It's extremely depressing knowing that she went to her grave without knowing ANYTHING about what happened to her daughter.

Just like the mothers of Tara Calico and Tammy Leppert passing away without knowing the truth about what happened to their daughters. Breaks my heart. :(

Was it related to this case or just bad luck?

Very bad luck from my understanding. I feel very bad for her husband.

Thanks so very much for the information, guys! I was so saddened to learn of Nancy Marshall's death. Whether she was murdered or not, she was so young when she passed away, definitely way too early before her time. I pray that someday justice may be found for both mother and daughter:(
