I never see anything does anyone remember the Chuck Barris game show from the 1970's called Treasure Hunt it was so bad but I enjoyed it

Yeah, I remember this -- Geoff Edwards hosted it, I believe. GSN showed a couple of episodes on a Saturday night a few months ago.

In the late 50s/early 60s, there was a Game Show called "Treasure Hunt" hosted by comedian Jan Murray. I don't know if the Chuck Barris show was supposed to be an updated version of this, or if the two shows just shared the same name. Does anyone have any info on this?

Yes, the Geoff Edwards-hosted, Chuck Barris-produced, 1970s show The New Treasure Hunt was a revival of the Jan Murray-hosted, 1960s show by the name of Treasure Hunt. Chuck Barris had bought the rights from the previous production company, greatly changed the game from a question-and-answer game to a game of luck, and then it became what we saw on the air. (To game show enthusiasts, it was one of his best games, though ratings on GSN prove that people enjoy his The Newlywed Game, and The Dating Game and The Gong Show didn't do TOO bad, either.)

Treasure Hunt! O, i loved that show! I watched it that night a few months ago, and i instantly LOVED the show! I saw the infamous ep, where this one lady gave up the box, which had a check for $45,000 and her husband got so mad, he left the stage. O, Id love to see that show again!
