SPT is also the distributor of the series.

What's the deal with Make My Day? Was it production issues, or just ratings? It seems to me if it did well initially it would have aired then and they wouldn't be airing 2 new episodes a week. The whole show just looks awful.

Make My Day is no longer going to air Wednesday at 10pm for a few weeks starting Dec. 2. Now it will air week of Dec. 21 at 10pm instead.

Also, the Merry-thon schedule has changed a bit and episodes of Married...with Children and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition have been added.

See first post for the full info.

Make My Day must really suck to be buried during Christmas week. Ouch.

YAY for more MWC! :D

The January schedule is posted on tvland.com's schedule updates board. Quite interesting. It's a little confusing in the evening/prime time, but not really surprising.

3rd Rock is gone, no surprise... Wonder why they don't give it a late night (1am-3am) slot or evening slot at least, as a lead in/out of PRIME?

So Home Improvement is finally coming over - I guess it was just a matter of time. Thankfully, Roseanne has managed to last on the schedule, and now they have Married with Children as well. Still, the schedule is very confusing to read. And I hate how they still have these nightly mini-marathons. Why can't they just go to a nightly schedule, say HI at 8pm, Roseanne at 9pm, and MWC at 10pm?

And why in the world are they repeating HSR on Wednesdays? Seriously, those episodes have aired more than 20 times already.

What is HSR? I looked over the schedule 4 times and couldn't find it. Perhaps I keep missing it! :D

High School Reunion. They're airing the first episode alone about 10 times in 1 week. It's crazy. The entire schedule is just one jumbled mess, imo.

Brent88
11-24-2009, 11:22 PM
Yeah, the HSR junk is so stupid. I also noticed they actually have special episodes of MWC that "flow" with it on Wednesdays at 9 before it. Give me a break.

I'm not really surprised by much else. Other than HI coming and HSR returning there isn't much change from the current schedule(I know, shocking). LOL

They are smart in just bumping Andy Griffith back an hour and not removing it from the schedule like this past summer. Though it isn't prime-time material for them anymore, it still does very well.

Remember, this is TV Land, so who knows if that will come to fruition, lol...

Another headache in primetime. HI and MWC aren't scheduled as much as I thought they would be. I guess they want to "ease" in with Home Improvement?

I think it would work better if they just did
8pm - 10pm- Home Improvement
10pm - 12am- Married...with Children
12am - 2am- Roseanne

That way viewers don't have to think so much about what's on TV Land each night. It's just too complicated...seems like a difficult way to get viewers.

On another note, I went to the official TV Land Facebook page and it looks like the TV Land employee running that page has leaked that "Bewitched" will be rejoining the TV Land line-up in 2010.

The post about 10 mouth-watering Thanksgiving episodes has comments from fans complaining about the lack of classics. Some of them start to make show requests.

Marilyn writes: Bewitched!
then "TV Land" writes about how they have a lot of shows from every decade and then says....
@Marilyn: Bewitched is coming in 2010! ;)

So I guess this is the 60s classic we've been waiting for? Pretty disappointing...Nothing against "Bewitched", but it airs on WGN and it's not been gone from TV Land for that many years. I would guess "I Dream of Jeannie" will be the other 60s show joining. They seem to usually come together.

I agree, primetime is still a disorganized mess. I noticed off the clock is not going away either(as originally planned) which to me makes things worse.

Well Bewitched is coming back to Program Exchange in 2010, so that would explain TV Land getting it. Very cheap.

clj2
11-29-2009, 09:56 PM
I wonder if Bewitched will leave WGN? Jeannie will probably be the other one, I agree.

Any other shows coming to the Program Exchange next year? I bet TV Land will definitely let some classics go next year. I think Brady Bunch and Good Times are goners.

Could somebody please explain what Program Exchange is?
I wonder why I have never heard of it before on this site...

Pavan
11-30-2009, 12:35 AM
I found out last month (or maybe September) that TV Land had inquired about Bewitched from Program Exchange but couldn't say since TV Land said not one word about it. But I had no idea that was one of the two '60s series they were planning or if it is even. It doesn't make sense since Bewitched was not Program Exchange when they announced these two '60s series stuff. So maybe Bewitched is not one of these original two. If it is, then I think the other one will be The Munsters since that is Program Exchange also.

DSfan, Program Exchange is a cheap licensor that licenses shows from other studios for syndication. It is usually temporary.

11-30-2009, 12:45 AM
It could be The Munsters, since it usually did better for them than IDOJ. However, I wish it wouldn't be, because it's been run to death on TV Land. I'd rather see a 60s series like Get Smart or something, but whatever. I'd watch it.

I highly doubt they'd acquire 3 shows from the 1960s. This fits the description given by TheLink, 60s show that crossed over in to the 70s. I think it is probably one of them or maybe they changed their minds about one of the others.

60s crossing into 70s sounds like Bewitched to me. I bet that was one of the original 2 he was talking. The other one? I have no idea. I wish it was something like Get Smart - that would be a treat to see again. Or even something like Gilligan's Island would be nice. The Munsters I'd rather them just leave in the past - feels like a completely pointless acquisition to me.

I really hope it is not The Munsters. Bewitched may not be 1 of "the 2", but it seems weird for them to be getting 3 60s shows.
In addition to being from the late 60s/early 70s, Bewitched is also highly requested on the TV Land boards.

I wonder if The Dick Van Dyke Show is a possibility?

The Merrython doesn't look that great. They need more of a variety. I wrote down a list of the shows that I have on tape/dvd that are classic shows of Christmas episodes and most of them aren't even going to be shown on the Merrython.

I would LOVE to see The Dick Van Dyke show, but I don't think it was doing well at all for them when it left in 2006. I just hope it's not The Munsters...seems like every time it leaves, they turn right back around and bring it back.
I have tapes of the Merrython from 2000-2002; THAT was good....they had the Screen Gems shows too.

Last time I remember seeing it was 2000 on TBS. Good old days when it would be on early in the mornings (especially on Saturdays from 8-10AM).

Also, it had one night of N@N's block party summer in either 2000 or 2001. Wednesdays? Not sure, but feel like it was or no, maybe it was Tuesdays. Somebody please confirm.

"Gilligan Tuesday" was part of the 2000 Block Party Summer. I don't know if it was part of 2001 which was the "Un-real-a-thon" summer I believe. 2000 was the last year for Block Party Summer

Yeah, you're right. They still had marathons though, in 2001. That was the real when they had those annoying trivia things come on the screen every 2 seconds and it made a stupid sound also. I wanted to read them but it kept distracting me from actually watching the show lol

Wow. 3rd Rock must have really bombed. I knew it didn't do well though so not surprisied.

Weekends sure aren't as good as they used to be...they're airing Married With Children again today. I like when they have stuff like Beaver, Hogan's Heroes, etc that don't get as much exposure in blocks on the weekend.
