Invisible Man
There were actually three very different TV series loosely based on H.G. Wells' classic story The Invisible Man. The first one (which I have
never seen) ran on CBS, from 1958 to 1960 and starred Johnny Scripps as
Peter Brady, a scientist-turned-adventurer who was unable to reverse an
experiment that made him invisible. This show was a British import. The
second one ran on NBC, from 1975 to 1976 and starred David McCallum as
Dr. Daniel Westin, a scientist on covert missions for a research company.
Melinda Fee and Craig Stevens co-starred. And, finally, there was the
2000-2002 version on the Sci Fi channel, starring Vincent Ventresca as
Darien Fawkes, a reformed thief whose invisibilty implant eroded his sanity
unless he received regular injections of a counteragent. Aided by partner
Hobbes (Paul Ben-Victor), Fawkes battled various bad guys for the federal
government in return for the serum. Eddie Jones played his superior.

I remember both versions of the short-lived sitcom Temperatures Rising.
When it began, it starred James Whitmore and Cleavon Little. It was hard for
me to accept Whitmore in a comedy, though, having previously seen him play a lawyer on the drama The Law and Mr. Jones. He was perfectly cast in that role. But, after Paul Lynde's self-titled sitcom was cancelled after a
brief run, he replaced Whitmore. In that later version, there were some very
funny verbal sparring matches between Lynde and Little. Too bad the ABC
network didn't give the show enough time to build an audience.
megamanj2004 11-03-2009, 03:29 PM I love The Critic! Do you know if it's available on DVD?
Me too!
It's too bad both ABC and FOX badly mishandled and poorly promoted this show.
JamesG 11-05-2009, 07:48 AM One more I forgot to mention is Jessica Alba's Dark Angel.

I'm sure there's more, I'll add them when I think of them.
Silly Lily 11-06-2009, 02:55 PM Freaks and Geeks, 18 episodes
My So-Called Life, 19 episodes
Life as We Know It, 13 episodes
The Class, 19 episodes
What About Brian?, 24 episodes
Ruby and the Rockits, 10 episodes
Privileged, 18 episodes
Reaper, 31 episodes
These all lasted 1 or 2 seasons. I have a few faves that while I think they had more stories to tell (American Dreams, Kyle XY), they did survive 3 seasons. I think 3 seasons is more than a fair amount of time for a network to give a show a chance.

megamanj2004 11-08-2009, 10:27 PM Whiz Kids - I wasn't born when this originally aired but after seeing some clips of it on YT, this was a very underrated show.
The John Larroquette Show - if NBC wouldn't have meddled with this show after S1, it could've lasted 5 seasons at most.
Oliver Beene - this show wasn't too terribly bad.
steevo 11-08-2009, 10:40 PM The Critic - I remember when it premiered on Fox. In the opening credits for this particular episode, Jay wakes up to message on his answering machine:"We would like to welcome you to Fox. Oh wait, did I call John Madden or that stupid cartoon critic?" (This was the first year the NFL was on Fox).
Mine are:

Police Squad!

Homefront (Drama series set after World War II. It was written by two of Knots Landing's best writers, Latham and Lechowick).
Arrested Development
Space:Above and Beyond
Firefly
Earth 2
CAJeannieFan57 11-08-2009, 10:49 PM My husband and I loved Bob Conrad's "High Mountain Rangers".
Also, "Ruby and the Rock-Its". Maybe it will get picked up sometime!
Ant-Lox 11-12-2009, 11:39 AM The Jeff Foxworthy Show
The Ellen Show (Her second sitcom, with Jim Gaffigan)
The Naked Truth
Out of those shows, only The Naked Truth has yet to be released on DVD. 55 episodes, with 7 un-aired. I lucked out a few years ago when they placed 17 episodes on Comcast On Demand. I recorded them in 1 day :D - But I would sell an organ to see the rest of the series.
megamanj2004 11-12-2009, 02:13 PM I forgot about Homefront.
Homefront had some strong acclaim going for it, I dunno how this good show left so soon.

Heidi Dawn 11-17-2009, 01:37 PM I liked 'Just the Ten of Us' better than 'Growing Pains'. I also thought 'Joanie Loves Chachi' was good too! Also, 'The Monkees', the only show that the cast cancelled itself.
megamanj2004 11-17-2009, 02:51 PM Also, 'The Monkees', the only show that the cast cancelled itself.
I always wondered why The Monkees' ended too soon?

howierules86 11-19-2009, 07:58 AM My votes would go to...
