I know a lot of you were watching The Halloween Show episode tonight in honor of Halloween, so I felt obligated to watch it too. I actually had never seen the full, uncut episode before tonight and there was this part that REALLY cracked me up! I LOVED it when all the girls had poor Mrs. Garrett cornered with the loaves of bread and the brooms and Mrs. Garrett said, "I'm really getting miffed!" and then Jo comes up to her (with the broom) and says, "Now Mrs. Garrett...just give me the knife...and we'll talk about it."

I can't believe you hadn't watched it before. My favorite part was when Jo was eating the bratwurst and realized that she was possibly eating Mr. Bigley. When she says "It kind of adds up...doesn't it?" and drops the sandwich, the look on her face is priceless. :rofl:

The one thing though that drove me nuts about this episode was that Mrs. G seemed very over-the-top throughout the whole thing. I mean, it's no wonder the girls believed she was going insane the way she kept bouncing around there with butcher knives in her hand. :lol: I know it was supposed to be because she was extra-busy making sausage, but come on...she was acting like a nutcase.

I'm glad you were able to watch it though. I wish they had a Thanksgiving episode to enjoy for the month of November. I am very close to pulling out the Christmas episodes, but it is too early! :)

I'm sorry. I should have specified. I DID see The Halloween Show ep when FOL was airing on the Hallmark Channel. I just never saw the complete, uncut version of the episode before last night. I had never seen some of the parts of the episode before, such as the part with Jo telling Mrs. Garrett to give her the knife. :lol:

As for the whole over-the-top issue with the possession, I couldn't agree more. First off, I personally believe that a true Christian can never be possessed and I never saw a truer Christian (in the land of sit-com fiction, anyway) than Mrs. Garrett. And like you said, COME ON with Mrs. Garrett standing there in the girls' bedroom doorway at 6:30 A.M. holding up the butcher knife like a murderer (or murderess as Mrs. Garrett later called herself in the ep. :lol:) Just because it was by her toothbrush in the bathroom doesn't mean she'd pick it up and be holding it up when she went in to wake up the girls...TOTALLY over-the-top and ridiculous! :lol: Maybe the writers just wanted the fans to think, just for a little bit during that episode, "Hmm...I wonder if Mrs. Garrett really IS possessed???" LOL! So they had to write her as kind of being over-the-top for a little while. It's still pretty funny though (I think, anyway.)

I am sure the writers wanted us to believe she was posessed as well, but it was just very over-the-top. She had a knife in her hand probably throughout 75% of the episode. :lol: And when she threatened to fatten up Hansel and Grettle (which I know was just Mrs. G being scary for Halloween) I about died at Jo's reaction. I also loved how she didn't care where her mystery meat came from. As a consumer that would bother me a bit. :lol: I love the line "I'm not one to look gift-meat in the mouth." This is just a plain silly episode, but yes...it is funny!

I wonder if he was chosen for this role because of his Hitchcock films? Maybe they thought it would be interesting to have a character actor who was known for scary movies in the Halloween Show. Of course, we know that he is not Mr. Bigley afterall, his name is really Mr. Lazaroni and he is the caretaker of the local cemetary. :lol:

I always loved Mr. Lazaroni/Bigley and I thought it was a shame they didn't bring him back to do more episodes. He was really a fun and hilarious character! I LOVED him in the Christmas episode that year!

My favorite part in this episode (I watched it 3 times this past weekend) is when Tootie is asleep in the chair and Mrs. Garrett walks in holding the butcher knife. She peers down at Tootie and they both scream. :lol:

I also love when Natalie says to Tootie "Look at this" holding Mr. Bigley's jacket and Tootie says "Ooh, I like it Natalie. You can handle bold colors." :lol:
