Yesterday afternoon I stumbled upon someone having a yardsale where I bought tons of VHS tapes for $1.00
Among the tapes I noticed a big VHS case that was "Gilligan's Island: Law & Order - Collector's Set". This case was big, like a box.
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me about this.. what is this? Is the tape worth anything...? It was opened but it looked like it was in good condition; no rips, tears, or anything like that.
I did not pick it up but if if it is worth getting I'll stop by there again to get it.
Turner brought out specific Gilligan's Island episodes on vhs with three to a tape and gave the tape an overall name.
Gilligan's Island: Law and Order
President Gilligan
The Little Dictator
Gilligan Goes Gung Ho
Gilligan's Island: Natural Disasters
Home Sweet Hut
Quick Before It Sinks
Operation: Steam Heat
Gilligan's Island: Misadventures of Gilligan
Good-Bye Island
So Sorry, My Island Now
It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Gilligan
Gilligan's Island: Mysterious Relics
Waiting for Watubi
Voodoo
High Man on the Totem Pole
to name a few. I don't know if the season 1 episodes are colourised.

^thanks.
Are these available easily? I'm sure they must be out of print so I was wondering if this particular one or tapes like it are rare to come across?

The tapes were issued by Columbia House, They did the same thing with M*A*S*H. The idiot at Columbia House that came up with this bird-brained idea to release the tapes this way needs their head examined. The episodes were not released in order and one month you would get a tape with Henry Blake long gone and on the next taped he would reappear. This is just one example of an idea that made no sense.

I used Amazon.com for my research and it appears they're readily available from a few sellers still.

Call me crazy, but I'd love to see a Gilligan's Island episode with the L&O chung-chung sound effect between scenes.
