If anybody wants to leave, you can make a thread and say good-bye. What is NOT allowed is your second-guessing Administrator's decisions, OR trashing this site, on your way out. No grand-standing. Enough with the drama. This is a fair site. If calling an Admin ignorant and a "f*ckin moron" for no reason is okay with anybody, then good luck finding a site where that crap flies, because it doesn't fly here. TJ and his staff work hard to run a respectable site. We don't need members who talk vulgar and look for trouble.

I want to add that, if someone is a Moderator and they publicly bash this site or cause trouble, expect to have your Moderator status removed. TJ takes great pride in his site as well as great offense when his own staff denounces his site. So think it through before going off in a huff. It's not always worth it.

Just bumping this thread up for those who need a reminder.

The fact is that the boards are strong enough that they can survive with a few members leaving. People come and go everyday. These boards have been around for nearly 10 years now. If you want to leave, you can post your farewell without taking any shots at anybody. If you want to bash SO and my staff elsewhere, there's really not much I can do about it but you risk your membership here if it continues. You can always PM or e-mail me to discuss any matters with the boards.

I know some people are tying to drive Janice away. She hasn't done anything to anyone to deserve this kind of treatment. She is being blamed for everything. Janice didn't ban a member (who was just coming off a suspension) who called an admin a nasty name or remove a moderator's status who took shots at other admins and SO in general in a farewell thread. If you don't want to be associated with the site, then you don't deserve the title. We are very lenient with the rules.. maybe too lenient at times. If you want to be here and contribute in a positive way, then you will always be welcome in this community. The people who are only here to cause problems and have maturity issues will continue to be shown the door.

For the last 6 years, Janice has done everything I have asked and more as a moderator and more recently as an admin. She is a very fair person who treats you the same way that you treat her. She has bent over backwards to be nice to people. She listens to all of your problems and offers you her advice. Her job as a moderator and admin is thankless and often underappreciated. It seems like all people want to do is bitch when she moderates. I can't picture the site without her. She has given so much time and support to it over the years.
