Has anyone here ever "sell" your dvd boxsets to stores, like FYE or Best Buy? I have a few boxsets that I hardly ever watch and would like to see if any stores would "buy" them from me. They're in great shape so they could use them. I know FYE sells used media, so I figured they must buy them from someone. Anyone ever do this? If so, how does it work?

I have never sold DVD boxed sets, but I have sold DVDs. I am assuming the procedure is the same, but you take what you got to a place that buys DVDs (like FYE or your local independent record store-provided you are lucky enough to have one in your city), and you tell them you want to sell them. They usually give you X amount of money, or may offer you trade for something else. With trade you tend to get more for your money. Of course there is always ebay.

You'll get more money on eBay than from a store. A store's obvious intent is to resell them for a profit which means they probably won't offer you much.

Agreed. We have a local store that sells used dvd's and I picked up both halves of Perry Mason Season Three for $20 each (they retailed new for $50 each) so I assume they did not pay much for them when they purchased them. I buy a lot of my dvds there since I refuse to pay $80+ for a season of a tv show.
