It's been a good three weeks since we last updated you on the progress of the "Arrested Development" movie, so it's high time for a new tidbit of information.

Series creator Mitch Hurwitz says that he'll direct the feature film, and he adds that fans could expect "a heavy jail presence."

Hurwitz and "Arrested Development" executive producer/narrator Ron Howard appeared on panels at the Austin Film Festival over the weekend, and Hurwitz confirmed that he'll be directing the "AD" movie in addition to working on its screenplay. He wouldn't disclose much about the story, although Austin360 reports that he promised the aforementioned "jail presence" and jokes about government bailouts.

In a separate panel, Hurwitz said he and Howard discussed tinkering with the show's documentary style, and Howard persuaded Hurwitz to see things his way: "I'm tempted to change the style for the film, but Ron Howard wants it to stay the same," Hurwitz said. "It will have just a little more polish."

Filming schedules and a release date have yet to be worked out.
