Over the last couple of months thanks to METV, I have been rewatching the first season of Family Ties and am really enjoying it. I never saw any of the season one episodes when Nick At Nite aired the series, so it has been a while since I've seen many of them. As I said, I've really enjoyed them and am going to ask for the season for Christmas. One of the things that I've noticed about season one is that Mallory seems more intelligent. Not as much as Alex or Jennifer, but certainly more so than she was in later seasons. Do others agree with me?

I agree. The writers really seemed to 'dumb down' Mallory. I don't know why they did that. I would have prefered that they not do that. There is an episode called Designated Hitter (Season 3) where Alex and Mallory take an IQ test. Mallory scores higher on it than Alex.

Season 1 is my favorite. There's just something sweet about the first season.

I liked it, too. I love the way she stood up to the creepy friend of the family who kept coming on to her.
