Ross was always getting into poor Patty's hair. So many examples but my fav was the one where he tape recorded the girls in "Slumber Party" (Shout D#1 S#1). What a scheming little coniver! What are your fav eps of Ross
being a pain in the a-- (as Patty so fondly refers to him in the cast interview bonus on Shout)?

I just watched the episode The President and Ross was at his double-dealing best. At the beginning of the episode he said he wanted to get in on the graft and he sure did! I wonder how much money he made in that episode?

Another thing about that episode that cracked me up was when Cathy started getting angry. When she puts on her mean face, you better watch out!

It was Patty's show and she got credit for playing the double role. But Paul O'Keefe as younger brother Ross was an important part of the show and deserves his share of the credit. Ross was the perfect foil to Patty and her schemes, he always pepped up the episodes with his funny one liners and wisecracks. Although Patty and Ross were often seen at odds during the episodes, at the end their affection for one another as sister and brother usually came through. Some of the best shows in the series are those that focus on Patty and Ross. A few that come to mind are- Birds And The Bees Bit, Slumber Party, Little Brother Is Watching You, Patty The Master Builder, Take Me Out To The Ballgame, and Ross Runs Away But Not Far.

The episode where Ross enters Patty in the teenage beauty contest to win money to buy his parents a TV is a good one too.

I always thought it was cute Patty being a few inches taller than Ross. Really made Patty look boss over her little brother. Ross had a common one liner to threaten Patty with. "Boy when I get grow a few more inches taller"..:D

One of our family's favorites: Ross in "A Slight Case of Disaster." Patty asks to borrow money from Ross because she bought an expensive dress to show up Sue Ellen.

Ross: What's your problem?
Patty: I need $60.
Ross: FGI.
Patty: FGI?
Ross: For-get-it.

We went around saying "FGI" for months after that!

That was a funny ep, with Patty and arch rival Sue Ellen ending up with ruined dresses. BUT Sue Ellen lost more so I guess Patty sort of won.

Thanks, Rich. I was interested in your take on that issue.

I've always thought Jeff was a realistic pesky little brother, but I think Ross was more devious. Jeff was full-blast, loud and rambunctious, and Ross was more subtle.

The thing I like about both brother/sister relationships is that there are cut-downs galore, but when it comes to troubled times, they stick together and show love for each other. That's how it was in our house.

Tis definitely true; when the chips are down Patty & Ross stick together. I'm a little rusty on my Donna Reed but I bet it was that way with Jeff too.
